Cottle County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. In 2000, its population was 1,904. Cottle is named for George Washington Cottle, who died defending the Alamo. Cottle County is one of forty-six prohibition, or entirely dry, counties in the state of Texas. Its seat is Paducah
