Judge Barte N. Dalton
Dies at Crosbyton
Special To The News, FORT WORTH, Texas, May 22 —Barte N. Dalton. District Attorney at Crosbyton, died in that city
at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, a telegram referred by A. B. Spencer manager of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce,
formerly of Crosbyton announced. Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife and an infant daughter. At the time of Mr.
Dalton's election to the office of District Attorney, last November, he was serving as Judge of a special session

Dick Randall Pierce
Surrounded by his family and friends, Dick Randall Pierce "Papa", 69, of Lubbock went to be with his
Lord and Savior on October 15, 2008. He was born January 16, 1939 to Julius Jewel and Carl Clemmie (Brantley) Pierce
in Mt. Blanco. He married the love of his life, Marilyn Gollihugh on July 20, 1957 in Lubbock. Papa belonged to
the Brotherhood of Genesis Baptist Fellowship, where he was a charter member and was dearly loved by the youth
group. He was the manager of the meat market at Brooks Super Market for 43 years. He was a very talented and creative
artist. He devoted his life to his Lord, his wife, and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, four
brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one son, Richard Duston Pierce and wife Cindy of
Abernathy; one daughter, Melinda Suzette McCandless and husband Chris of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
one brother and one sister. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at
Resthaven Funeral Home. Services will be held at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock 2 p.m. Saturday, October
18, 2008 with Roger Garrett of Genesis Baptist Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial

County Clerk-Elect Dies at Crosbyton
CROSBYTON. Texas, Nov. 12.- L R. Powell, one of the beat known of the early settlers of Crosby County, died at
his home In Crosbyton after a week's illness with pneumonia. He was a member of a number of fraternal organizations.

Bank and was elected District and County Clerk of Crosby County In the recent election.

Mrs. Noel Scott
Crash Injuries Kill Woman
SEYMOUR. Texas. Sept. 13.—As the result of an automobile accident a few miles from Seymour. Mrs. Noel Scott of
Panhandle died in a hospital here Friday night. Her baby was in her arms at time of the accident and was also hurt,
but not seriously.. Besides her husband and their baby, she leaves her father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Waldron
of Crosbyton. and several brothers and sisters. Burial will be in Crosbyton Sunday. [Dallas
