Stanton Pioneer Interred Friday
STANTON, April 24 -- Funeral service for J. R. Joyner, 85, pioneer Stanton resident, was held here Friday afternoon at the family home. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Joyner had resided in Martin county more than 30 years, in Stanton since 1912. He was a retired stock farmer, and a former county tax assessor. He came to Texas in 1872 from Alabama, his native state, and taught school several years. He was married in 1874 to Mandy E. Wise, one of his pupils, who died in October, 1933.
