Abilene Reporter News, Sept. 12, 1926, transcribed by, Amanda JowersCharged With Murder -- Alice Smith, a negress, furnished bond of $1,000 on a charge of murder in connection with the death of another negress. Her trial is set for October 30. A special venire of 50 men has been ordered to report for jury duty then. W. G. Adcock is named in three indictments, each of which charges driving an automobile while intoxicated. His bond was fixed at $1,000 in each case. R. F. Knight was indicated on forgery charges in two cases. His trials are set for September 20. Other indictments: Harry Hill, selling and possessing liquors, bond set at $1,000 and trial September 13. Jack Williams, same charge bond set at $1,000 and trial September 13. Charlie Blanks, possessing liqours, set for September 14, with a bond of $1,000. Arvil Bryant, burglary, set for September 14, with a bond fixed at $1,000. John Grow, burglary, bond of $750, with trial set for September 13. Albert Bright, a negro, driving an automobile while intoxicated, trial set for September 13, with bond of $1,000. Bill Benton, driving an automobile while intoxicated, bond set at $750, and trial for September 13. Douglas Smith, perjury, trial set for September 14, with a $750 bond.
