Mrs. J. D. Turk has returned from visiting Hillsboro. She was accompanied home by Miss Virginia Potts who will make her home with her and attend McMurry College.

Mrs. Clifford Johnston and little daughter, Virginia, and Mrs. John Humphrey left Saturday for a visit in Springfield and Lebanon, Mo. At Lebanon Mrs. Humphrey will visit a sister whom she has not seen in 37 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Buttrill and family of Lometa are visiting Mr. Buttrill's sister, MRs. Jim Nevins and the Misses Buttrill.

Robert Balfanz of Houston, en route to San Angelo, his former home, is the guest of his uncle, W. R. Balfanz. Mr. Balfanz has just completed a course in pharmacy in a Dallas school.

Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Balfanz and sons, Edwin Leonard and Hugh, have returned from El Paso where they have been visiting Mrs. Balfanz's sister-in-law, Mrs. Geo. E. Chartrand.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Morris and baby have returned from a several week's visit in Waxahachie. Mr. Morris is head of the history department in the Abilene high school.

Rev. and Mrs. Ed Tharp of Idalou are spending the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Leverett.

Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fuson and son, Earl, returned Friday night from an automobile tour of almost 6,000 miles which carried them through fifteen states.

Miss Mildred Yantis O. Brady is expected Sunday afternoon to attend Simmons University. Her sisters, Misses Willie Florence, and Erin will accompany her and spend the day with Mr. and Mrs. George Yantis.

Rupert Harkrider Jr. leaves Sunday for Austin to re-enter the state university.

Frank Boggeman of Fort Worth has been here several days on business.

Misses Elizabeth and Lenora Parker are leaving Monday for San Marcos where they will be in school in the San Marcos Academy for the winter.

Miss Mae White left Friday for O'Donald to spend the week-end visiting friends and relatives.

Mrs. C. W. Stevens, Misses Ora Baker, Iva Rhodes and Mrs. Jewel O'Briene returned Friday night from an automobile trip of ten days to Austin, Houston, Temple, Fort Worth and other points east.

Miss Eula McFarlane, accompanied by her brother, Hugh, is expected here Monday from Brownwood. He will spend several days visiting with their aunt, Mrs. Ira Dorton, while she will remain here in charge of the home economics department in McMurry College. She has been teaching in Howard Payne College for several years and did graduate work in Columbia University this summer.

Mrs. D. W. Wristen Jr. of Stamford is here visiting Mrs. D. W. Wristen.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heflin of Stamford were here on business Saturday.

Miss Iva Coleman and Miss Emma Miller are in Ballinger spending the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Garrett.

Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Busby have returned to their home in Ovalo after a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. E. Busby.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Dye of Dallas have returned to their home after spending several days here with Mrs. Dye's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Clayton.

Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Humphrey are leaving Sunday morning for San Antonio on business. They will be away for several days.

Mr. and Mrs. Athony Lyon of Dalhart left Thursday evening for Chicago to visit two weeks with relatives before returning to their home. They have been here with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. E. Lyon for the last week.

Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Trice of Colgate, Oklahoma, left Saturday morning for their home after spending a month with their daughter, Mrs. Will Parmelly at her home near Capps.

Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Cole are spending Sunday in Sweetwater and will be joined there by their daughter, Miss Kathleen, who has been visiting in Lubbock for the last week.

Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Cogdell and little daughter, Mickie, have returned from Dallas where they visited for several days.

Mrs. Jack Bell of Wichita Falls is here visiting her mother, Mrs. J. C. Giles and her sister, Miss Sue Carpenter.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed S. Hughes left Saturday morning on the Sunshine Special for their winter home in New York. They spent the summer in Abilene.

Mrs. N. J. Yantis, Mrs. Sam McCollum, and little son, Sam Jr., who have been here visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Yantis and other relatives have returned to their home in Brady.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Busby and children of Olney have been visiting relatives here and in Ovalo.

Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Barksdale are spending the week-end in Albany with her sister, Mrs. N. W. Shoffitt.

Dr. and Mrs. L. J. Pickard have moved from their country home near Hereford Lake and are occupying the home of the late Judge K. K. Leggett, on South Sixth and Meander Street, where they will in the future reside.

Miss Frances Davis has gone to Cisco where she will teach mathematics in the grammar school.

Miss Lottie Roe Green will leave early in the week for Fort Worth where she will again be a Spanish instructor in the high school.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Platt and daughter, Virginia, of Amarillo, have been visiting Mrs. Platt's sister, Mrs. Geo. R. Harris.

 Mrs. Ann McLain of Amarillo is visiting her sister, Mrs. Gene Atkinson, 1730 North Third.
 

Mrs. Frances Gillespie has week-end guests Mr. and Mrs. Alger Melton and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trammell of Chickasha, Okla. Mr. Melton is Mrs. Gillespie's brother, and Mr. Trammell is a cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Melton and Mr. and Mrs. Trammell will visit in Mineral Wells and Dallas before returning home.

 Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Barber, route 2, Abilene, acompanied by their son Clinton, and Miss Nannie Tompkins, sister to Mrs. Barber, will leave Abilene Monday for Salt Lake, Washington, where they will spend the summer. They will travel by way of Southern California and the Pacific coast.

 Judge and Mrs. O. O. Hatchett are week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Hatchett. Judge Hatchett and T. G. Hatchett are brothers.
