Jewett Couple Married

Mr. Wm. E. Sharp and Mrs. Laura Mills of Jewett were married in this city this morning by County Judge R. E. Erwin. The ceremony was performed in the Judge's office, and the happy couple were congratulated by officers in the court house.

Mr. L. B. Evans and Miss Jennie Proctor were married at Neches on Thanksgiving day.
            Mr. Evans is chief clerk of the Bell Commission Co. at Beaumont, and is a brother of Messrs. Chub and Fred Evans of this city.
            Miss Proctor formerly lived in Palestine and has many friends here.
            The newly married couple left the same night for Beaumont, their future home.

News has reached this city of the marriage of Miss Victorine VanDevender, daughter of Mr. S. C. VanDevender of this city, on Thanksgiving day, to Mr. Sam Cohen of Groveton, a merchant of that place. The young lady’s many friends here send congratulations.

Stedman-Hicks 

Waco, Texas – Jan. 21 – Judge N. A. Stedman and Miss Emma S. Hicks were married today, Dr. Anderson of Palestine officiating. The marriage took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen, the latter being a sister of the bride. Judge Stedman is the general attorney of the International and Great Northern Railway. The bridal couple left in the presidential car Palestine for the City of Mexico.
