Texarkana, Tex., July 6.--Patrick LONERGAN, a leading business man and one of the city's pioneer settlers, died this morning at his mother's home at Jacksonville, Ill., aged 52 years. He was formerly an attache of the Iron Mountain railway, and was perhaps as well known all the way from here to St. Louis as any man ever in the service. He also served this city three terms as marshal, and was universally esteemed as a leading and useful citizen. He was unmarried and leaves an estate valued at about $15,000. A large number of sorrowing friends left to-night for Jacksonville to attend the funeral. [submitted by Barbara Ziegenmeyer]
