Margaret H. Pickens
Mrs. Margaret H. Pickens, age 59, of Route 1, Crockett, passed away January 17, 1908 in a Houston hospital. Mrs. Pickens was born October 27, 1920, in Buffalo, Wyoming and had resided in Crockett since 1975. She was a master cake decorator and a member of the Quaker faith. Survivors include her husband, Mr. LeRoy Pickens of Crockett, two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Pickens Sucec of Houston, Mrs. Lynda Young of Chico, CA; two sons, Thomas Pickens of Crockett, LeRoy Pickens, Jr. of Huntington Beach, CA; two brothers, Walter Hushbeck of Tulsa, OK, Elgin Hushbeck of Redlands, CA; six grandchildren including Bruce Sucec and Margaret Sucec of Crockett, and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Monday, January 21 at the graveside in the Jim English Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth G. Mobley officiating. Interment followed in the Jim English Cemetery. Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Anna M. Martin

Grapeland, Tex., March 9  The remains of Mrs. Anna M. Martin, the wife of Col. J. A. Martin, arrived here this morning from Paine s store, Hunt County. Mrs. Martin was raised in this neighborhood and had many warm friends who sympathize with Col, Martin in his great loss. The funeral will take place tomorrow at Pleasant Hill.

Perneacy Rawls
Dallas Morning News – 1 July 1924

Crockett, Houston Co., Texas, June 30. – The body of Mrs. Perneacy Rawls, 80 years old, who died at Dallas Thursday, June 19, was brought to Crockett Saturday. It was taken to the Wesley Chapel community, where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Davis. Burial took place in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Rawls was the mother of Sam and Joe Rawls of that community.
