Marion Butler Panola Watchman (Carthage, Texas) Wednesday, October 5, 1910 Died. Marion, the little one-year-old son of Jackson Butler and wife of Deadwood, died Sunday morning, Oct. 2. The little fellow was sick only a few days, but his sufferings were intense. The Watchman tenders its sincere sympathy to the bereaved mother and father in their sad hour. {Submitted by Marla Zwakman} W. W. Grubbs Panola Watchman (Carthage, Texas) Wednesday, December 17, 1913 We are again called on to chronicle the death of one of our old and respected citizens, that of W. W. Grubbs, who died Tuesday at 11 o'clock , and who had for 35 years resided in the Woods community. It is not known definitely what ailment caused his death, but is thought that it was mainly kidney trouble and cancer. The deceased was 73 years old, and leaves a wife and four married daughters, Mrs. Dick Flemming, Mrs. Chas. Flemming, Mrs. J, B Hooker and Mrs. Geo. Knight, besides a host of warm friends who mourn his demise. Interment was made in. the Woods cemetery Thursday, the funeral being conducted by Rev. Gibson, a Baptist minister of Timpson.
