RECEIVER FOR LUMBER CO.
J.M. West Put in Charge of Trinity County Lumber Company
Groveton, Texas, Nov. 18 - Hon. Gordon Boone, district judge of the Twelfth District, appointed Mr. J.M. West, president of the West Lumber company of Houston, temporary receiver for the Trinity County Lumber company at this place Saturday, and Mr. West today filed bond and took charge of the large plant under orders to continue ordinary operations, but to stop construction of the North & South Texas railroad and the standard guage extension which attorneys for W.F. N. Davis, on whose application the received was appointed, allege was being built with funds of the Trinity County Lumber company in violation of an injunction issued from Judge Boone's court in pursuance of said order. Mr. West has notified all persons in the service of the Trinity County Lumber company in the construction of said railroads to cease operations. Judge Boone has set Thursday, the 20th inst., for hearing whether the receivership shall be made permanent.
