Description: Obituary W. C. SHELTON

De Leon, Tex., March 27.--W. C. SHELTON, a prominent Mason and gin man, living seven miles from here, was buried today with Masonic honors.

Commanche:
Eight person were drowned near Custine as the result of a flood to the South Leon river last night, following a downpour of rain.
The dead:
Mrs George Terney and five children
John Lenear
Mrs John Lenear
George Terney with his baby in his arms saved himself by climbing a tree. The loss of life was in the Custine community where the flood came down the river with such force that the houses occupied by the Terney and Lenear families near the stream were carried away. This rain was the heaviest in ten years.

OBITUARY

Mrs. J H Blackmore

Mrs J H Blackmnore, 59, died at her home, 1022 West Grand Avenue Wednesday. Funeral services will be held from the Gospel Mission Church, Fourth and Connelly, at 10 am Friday.Interment will be at Taiban, at 2pm in charge of C V Steed.

Besides her husband, J H Blackmore, she is survived by two brothers, John Rogers, LaLande, and Frank Rogers, Amarillo

MONTGOMERY-LONG - Ozona , Tex. , Nov. 31.—Married, at Comanche Tex., last Wednesday, Mr. C. C. Montgomery of Ozona. Tex. , to Miss Kate Lone of Comanche, Tex. The young couple arrived at Ozona on the stage and were met by the committee and conducted to the court house, and after dancing until 10:30 , supper was announced and those present betook themselves to the Kirkpatrick Hotel. After supper was over, those who wished returned to the court house and danced until about 12:30 when the company dispersed with many good wishes for the happy young couple. Mr. Montgomery is a prominent young ranchman of Crockett County and his wife is a member of one of Comanche’s best families. They were the recipients of many rich and beautiful presents from relatives and friends. They leave today for their home at the ranch. [Transcribed and Submitted by Marla Zwakman]
