Ennis, Ellis Co., Tex., July 25. – Dr. J. C. Wood, a prominent veterinary surgeon, formerly of Ennis, died this morning at Greenville.
 
Ennis, Ellis Co., Tex., July 27. – J. D. Williams, a prominent farmer near Bardwell, died Wednesday evening. He was a Mason and a Woodman of the World.
 
Ennis, Ellis Co., Tex., July 25. – Mrs. F. R. Ransom, aged about 70 years, died here last night. She was the mother-in-law of Chief Train Dispatcher J. P. Mann and Conductor J. S. Telfair of the Central. A special train carried the funeral party to Corsicana today. -- Submitted by Marla Zwakman

Waxahachie, Tex., July 30. – Walter Turner, aged 79 years, a prominent farmer of Boz and a pioneer settler in this county, died very suddenly yesterday afternoon. He was feeling unusually well at dinner and ate heartily, but shortly afterward received a stroke of apoplexy and died in a few moments.-- Submitted by Marla Zwakman

Galveston, Tex. Jan 18 - A special from Ennis, Texas, to the News says:  Seven persons were drowned today in Sand Lake, about ten miles east of Ennis.  Two young women, daughters of Wm. Williams a farmer, and a young man named Babbitt were skating on the lake, when the ice gave away and they sunk in found and a half feet of water.  --Submitted by Veneta McKinney.

Ennis,  Texas, Nov. 12 - Mrs. F.H. Maxwell, 70 years old, died at her home at Garrett Tuesday.  She is survived by her husband and five sons, D.R. and E.D. Maxwell of Garrett, F.E. of Fort Worth, C.L. of Pittsburg and G.A. of Denison.  The Rev. Ben West of Waxahachie conducted the funeral service here at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon.

Ennis, Tex., June 24. - F.M. Lewis, a farmer of the Crisp community, died of congestion at h is home Wednesday night.  He was buried at Union Hill Thursday afternoon.
