Wanted In Freestone County
Special to The News Waxahachie. Tex., Nov. 19—Deputy Sheriff McCalpin this afternoon arrested Henry High, colored, who is wanted In Freestone County on an alleged charge of murder. Sheriff Roper of Freestone County was notified of the negroe's arrest. The offense charged against him is  alleged to have been committed in that county about a year ago.

Freestone Pioneers Married Fifty Years
STEWARDS MILL,, Texas. Dec 20.—Mr. and Mrs. John Carder Thornton, pioneer residents of Freestone County, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday. Open house will be held at their home in Stewards Mill from 3 to 6 p.m. Mrs. Thornton, the former Miss Mary Bonner, was born at Stewards Mill. Mr. Thornton was born in Hawesville, Ky and came to Texas in 1875, having moved to Freestone County in 1876. Mr. and Mrs. Thornton were married Dec 23. 1897, and are the parents of three children. Carder Thornton, Stewards Mill; Mrs. M. H. Thornton, Muskogee, Okla., and Miss Sue B. Thornton, Tahlequah, Okla.

Pioneer Freestone County Man Is Dead
WORTHAM. Freestone Co., Tex- as, Jan. 4.—M. L- Morrow, 83, Con- federate veteran, died early Thursday rnorning at the home of his brother, J. N. Morrow, here from injuries sustained when he was run down by an automobile in Worthham Dec. 21. Mr. Morrow was a resident of Freestone County for thirty-seven years and is survived by three daughters and one son. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon.

Teague , Tex. , Feb. 12. – George Holland of this place received a telegram yesterday stating that his 16-year-old brother was killed by a street car in Omaha , Neb. Mr. Holland left on the afternoon train for Omaha to attend the funeral. [Transcribed and submitted by Marla Zwakman]
