Gordon, 94-year-old retired Denison farmer and music teacher, who died Wednesday at a Denison hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bratcher Funeral Chapel. The Rev. A.D. Campbell of the Harless Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Mr. Gordon was born in Collin County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pitts Gordon, and was married to Melissa Katherine Carmichael on Oct. 12, 1902 in Desert. He was a member of the Harless Methodist Church where he served as choir director for 14 years. He also operated service stations, and was a Watkins salesman. Surviving are his sons, Ancil Gordon of Seagraves and J.T. Gordon of Big Springs; daughters, Mrs. Winnie Nicholas of Denison and Mrs. Tom McKee of Bells; 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Gordon Retired Grocer, Realtor Dies at 94 Whitewright--Funeral was held Tuesday in Earnheart Funeral Chapel for Robert B. Gordon, 94, retired Whitewright grocer and real estate man, who died Monday afternoon at his home after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage 10 days ago. Rev. Lee H. Smith, minister of the Presbyterian Church and Rev. W.W. Alverson, retired Presbyterian minister, officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gordon was a native of Clinton, Ark., and a son of the late Joseph and Una Gordon. His late wife was the former Miss Mary LeFevre of Crossroads community, south of Whitewright. He was the last surviving charter member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church. He had lived in Whitewright 58 years. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. C.W. Pope of Whitewright, Mrs. John Livingston of Sherman and Mrs. Allan T. Short of Whitewright; two sons, Luther Gordon of Whitewright and W. L. Gordon of Dallas; two brothers, Jim Gordon of Whitewright and D.C. Gordon of Denison; two sisters, Mrs. W.A. Shirkel of Trenton and Mrs. W.A. C. Binkley, President of the Merchants and Planters' National Bank of Sherman, died this evening at 8 o'clock, after an illness of several months. Judge Binkley has been identified with Sherman, Tex., since 1853, when, with his father's family, he left Robertson County, Tenn., the place of his birth, for this little prairie village on the frontier of civilization. He began the practice of law, and was appointed District Judge by Governor E. J. Davis, in 1870. He held the office until a successor was elected by the people, and thereafter devoted his entire time to the management of the bank which he founded, and served as President up to this time. Sherman owes more to his liberality and public spirit than to that of any other citizen, and there are few business men in North Texas who will not remember his name with gratitude. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________   Dallas Morning News  Date: September 17 1888 --Van Alstyne, Tex., Sept. 16.--Uncle Tommy Bills, an aged citizen of 70 years, and forty years a Texan, died at his home, two miles south of here, last night.           died at midnight. The remains, over which services were held this afternoon by Father Moore of St. Mary's Catholic church, were sent to
          Philadelphia for burial.

          Headline: Denison Editor Dead; Was Ill But Week. Elwin A. Thompson Victim of Peritonitis--End Comes in Hospital at Sherman.

          --Denison, Texas, Oct. 7.--Elwin A. Thompson, editor of the Denison Herald, s dead at his home here. The end came at 9:20 last night
          in  the hospital at Sherman and was due to peritonitis, from which he had suffered but one week.  When stricken an operation was intended,
          but when he was taken to the hospital his condition was so serious it was decided to forego this until he improved enough to permit it. He 
          grew gradually worse, however, and it was apparent yesterday that the end was near.  Mr.Thompson was born in Vermont forty years ago,
          and came to Denison seventeen years ago. The Denison Herald was then for sale and Mr. Thompson purchased the property, one or more
          friends  being associated with him.  Twelve years ago he married Miss Margaret Balkey of Kansas City, who survives him, with two 
          children, Elwin and Jane. His father,  L.S.Thompson, is now a citizen of Denison. He leaves one sister, Mrs. R. C. Hearne of Fort Worth.

         Date: August 27 1889
         --Sherman, Tex., Aug. 26.--Tom C. Milton, one of the old citizens of Sherman, died at his residence, corner Walnut and Mulberry streets,
         tonight at 10:30 o'clock. The deceased was a prominent railroad contractor and was for quite a while engaged in building on the El Paso
         extension of the Texas and Pacific railway. The funeral will take place tomorrow. The deceased leaves a wife and family of several children.

         --Denison, Tex., Dec. 12.--Mrs. C. A. Wilkinson, wife of Dr. C. A. Wilkinson of 1201 West Woodard street, died last evening at 7 o'clock, 
          after a lingering illness of two years, the most of which time the lady was confined to her bed. Funeral services were held this afternoon at
          3 o'clock, at the Southern Methodist church. Her remains were interred at the Lane Schoolhouse Cemetery, three miles west of the city.

              --Denison, Tex., Dec. 19.--Mrs. Markham, wife of Dr. L. N. Markham of this city died last evening at 7 o'clock at the family residence.
          Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Baptist church. Drs. Wilson Gardner, DeBow, Birch and Fisher and Col. R.C. Foster
          acted as pallbearers. The remains were interred in Fairview Cemetery.

              Obituary:  Ed Burch
           Date: October 23 1888
           --Denison, Tex., Oct. 23.--Ed Burch, a young man who has been sick at the Thompson Hotel for five or six weeks, died this morning at 
           11 o'clock. Mr. Burch came to Denison several months ago and obtained employment with the Denison Base ball nine, in which position
           he gained considerable notoriety. He claimed that his parents lived in New York state, but since his sickness, inquiry developed the fact 
           that his parents live at Bloomfield, Ky., and that his real name was McMekin. What induced the young man to change his name no one in
           Denison knows. His remains were shipped to Waco for interment.
