Description: Death of Deputy Sheriff John ANDERSON and Lee LOVELACE.

At a barbecue near Rogers, John ANDERSON, the Deputy Sheriff of Milam County, attempted to arrest Lee LOVELACE, who made a violent resistance. ANDERSON was mortally wounded and LOVELACE was killed on the spot.

Description: Obituary Miss Emma PERRY

Rockdale, Tex., Feb. 15.--The pure and gentle spirit of Miss Emma PERRY, only daughter of A. P. PERRY, departed from its earthly abode this afternoon. Deceased was a most beautiful and lovable young girl just budding into womanhood and her death from pneumonia contracted not more than a week ago, has saddened the hearts of her many friends and stricken her doting parents with grief almost beyond human endurance.

Obituary Henry GOLDSTICKER

Rockdale, Tex., Aug. 9.--Henry GOLDSTICKER, one of the earliest settlers in Rockdale, died to-day of Bright's disease. He leaves a most estimable wife and family to mourn his loss. Deceased was a member of both knights and legion of honor. He possessed many excellent qualities.

Joseph White and Mrs. Gasaway Were Married at Rosebud
 
Rosebud, Tex., May 1. — At the residence of Mrs. Call Lindsey un unusual wedding was celebrated Sunday evening at 3 o'clock, in which the contracting parties were Joseph White Sr., aged 83, and Mrs. Salle Gasaway, whose ago is 74, Rev. B. T Goodwin, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. White is one of the pioneer settlers of Milam county, and has ten children of his first family, nine of whom are alive, and all of them married and have large families.
 
Mrs. Gasoway was one of the early settlers of Milam County.
This couple, together with their families, have lived near each other for a number of years, their estates having been separated by a public road. Both of the contracting parties are reputed to be quite wealthy. --Submitted by Marla Zwakman
