DEATH NOTICES



Armstrong
James B. McKean post, G.A.R., was in charge of the burial this afternoon of Mayor William Armstrong of Milford, who died at Holy Cross hospital Friday night following a lengthy illness. The funeral was held at 1:30 from the O’Donnell undertaking chapel.

Billingsley
William Campbell Billingsley died this morning at his home at Eleventh East and Fourteenth South streets at the age of 94 years. Mr. Billingsley was born in Tennessee. He came to Utah in the early 60’s and became prominent in mining and industrial circles.

In Minersville and throughout Beaver county he was well known as a hotel man. Death occurred after a lingering illness. He leaves five daughters and three sons. The body will be sent from the O’Donnell undertaking establishment to Minersville, Utah, where internment will take place.

The funeral of William C. Billingsley will be held from the undertaking parlors of O’Donnell & Co. at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon, after which the body will be taken to Minersville for burial.

Crouse
MOAB, Dec. 2. – Henry Crouse, 87, Moab’s oldest citizen, died of general debility at his home here Sunday night. He was born in Ohio in 1834 and came to Utah in 1873, settling in Beaver county. Ten years later Mr. Crouse pioneered the Moab valley, then a part of Emery county. For thirty-five years he was a cooperative weather observer, serving the federal bureau without compensation. 

He is survived by eight children and one sister, Mrs. Eva D. Missner of Cashton, Wis.

Jackson
At about 12 o’clock noon, on Friday last, Samuel Jackson, Sen., died at his residence in Beaver at the ripe age of 64.

Morgan
At Greenville, Beaver County, May 13th, David D. Morgan, aged 53 years, 2 months and 9 days. He was a native of Methyr, Tydfyl, Glamorganshire, South Wales.

Woods
BEAVER, Feb. 17. – Double funeral services for William B. Woods, 72 years of age, and his wife, Mary C. Woods, 68, both of Minersville, were held Tuesday afternoon, in the ward chapel at Minersville. Internment was made in the Minersville cemetery.

Mrs. Woods died last Friday morning, after a five days’ illness from pneumonia, and Mr. Woods died the day following, of complications incident to old age.
