EDWARD BORENS CELEBRATE
50TH "GOLDEN" ANNIVERSARY A 50th wedding anniversary
open house reception and dance was held on December 29,
for Mr. and Mrs. Edward Boren of Manila. The open house
reception was conducted at the home of the Borens Friday
during the day and was followed by a dance at the Manila
Ward recreation hall under the auspices of the sons and
daughters of the wedding couple and through the courtesy
of Bishop Dixon Christensen. Edward Boren is the son of
William Coleman Boren and Lovina Jones, born November 9,
1893 at Clifton and raised in youth at Vernal. Lila
(Schofield) Boren is the daughter of Willard Schofield
and Ida May Potter, early pioneers of Daggett County,
and was born June 26, 1902 at Linwood. Mr. and Mrs.
Boren were married at Green River, Wyoming, December 29,
1917, three short months before Edward was called away
to France during the First World War. The Borens have
had twelve children, six of whom are now living; 24
grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs.
Boren have asked that this serve notice of thanks to all
of those who recognized them in any way on their very
special day.
Twitchell
and Langston Marriage
Miss Beatrice Langston and
Mr. Peter Twitchell of Manila Utah were united in
marriage in Green River Monday morning, Judge Joseph
Payne tying the knot that united them for better or
worse until death do us part. The young couple
left immediately after the ceremony for their home near

Married in this city
February 2nd, 1914 Mr. Timothy Potter and
Miss Bertha Nelson, both of Linwood, Utah, Rev. Jan J.
LeFebre officiating. Peter Wall of Buckboard and F. M.
Twitched of Manila, were witnesses of the ceremony. Mr.
and Mrs. Potter will make their home in Manila, Utah.
