Daily Nevada State Journal, Reno NevadaAt Nephi, Utah, last Monday night, Apostle Erastus Snow, in a harangue to the Saints said; "In spite of the President of the United Staes and the Government of the United States and its officials, we will do as we please. We will not submit to the President, nor the Government, nor to any Judge, Marshal, Sheriff, Constable, or any other Government official. We will see them in hell first!" To this, says the Salt Lake Tribune, there was a hearty amen all over the house.

Daily Kennebec Journal, Augusta MaineApostle Teardel in an address to the Mormons at Nephi, Utah, counseled the children as follows: "I want to caution the children. There's men around asking the children how many wives their fathers have. If they ask you, tell them you don't know. I'd rather you told a lie to defend your friends and parents than the truth that will bring trouble upon them." - San Francisco Call
