OBITUARIES/DEATH NOTICES

Millard County, Utah

Brunson
Died, of
congestive chills, at the residence of her son in Fillmore City, Millard
County, July 31st, 1879, Marriet, relict of Seymour Brunson and daughter
of Wm. H. Could and Hulda Gillmore. Born, Aug. 2nd 1802, ?ector, Seneca
County, N.Y.. She was baptized by Hyrum Smith in 1831 and moved with her
husband to Jackson County in 1836, being among those who suffered
persecution at the hands of Missourians. They moved to Far West in 1838
and finally with the rest of the Saints, left the state of Missouri in the
year 1839 and moved to Quincy, IL; finally beating at Nauvos, Hancock
County, where her husband died in 1840. Seymour Brunson held the office of
colonel in the Nauvoo Legion and was a member of the High Council. He was
buried with military honors. In the year 1841, Sister Brunson was married
to John Elmer. She had five children by the first husband and two by her
second husband. They moved to Council Bluffs in 1846 and arrived in Salt
Lake City in the fall of 1851. Since arriving in the valleys of the
mountains, she lived at Provo and Payson until Elmer died and since
resided with her son Lewis Brunson in Fillmore.

Memmott
Died, at Scipio, Millard county, Oct. 20th, 1866, John Memmott, of lung
fever, aged 43 years, eight months, three weeks and six days. Born
February 2d, 1822, at Aston, Yorkshire, England. He died in full faith
of the Gospel.

Roberts
Mrs. E. R. Roberts, 279 Seventh East street, has received word that her
son, C. Herbert Roberts, 31 years old, has died from influenza at
Lynndyl, Utah. Roberts leaves a widow and two children.

Stark
At Deseret, Millard County, September 10th, 1886, of paralysis, Elsie
Stark, born June 22nd, 1827. Deceased embraced the Gospel in Sweden in
1857, and died in full faith.

Woodard
At Kanosh, Millard, Utah, December 3, 1885, of dropsy and inflammation
of the lungs, Ann Granger Woodard, wife of Jabez Woodard; born November
24, 1818, at Sydenham, Kent, England.

Holsey
Mrs. Albert Holsey of Kanosh, Utah, died at her home in that city on
last Saturday according to word received in Salt Lake today. Mrs.
Holsey is the sister of Samuel Dorrity, deputy United States marshal,
in Salt Lake. Mrs. Holsey was 33 years old. She died after only a brief
illness. She is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son. She
is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Dorrity of Kanosh, and
her brother, Samuel of Dorrity of this city. Mr. Dorrity left for
Kanosh yesterday to attend the funeral services.
