John C. Gray

RANDOLPH--John C. Gray, former bishop of Randolph L. D. S. ward, died at his home here Wednesday following a long illness.
Mr. Gray was born July 18, 1652, in
Rathen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He emigrated to Utah in 1882, living
four years in Salt Lake before coming here. He was president of the
Mutuals and of an elders' quorum before being appointed bishop in 1901.
He served until 1916. during which time the $23,000 tabernacle was
built here.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs.
Louise Ruthie Gray, and five sons and daughters: Andrew and Mrs. Ruth
Jensen, Ogden; Nomral L. Gray and Mrs. Rachel Wilson, Randolph; Mrs.
Lucy Walk, Salt Lake.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Randolph L. D. S. tabernacle.
Leonard Wesley Hoffman

Leonard W. Hoffman, 94, passed away January 27, 1992, of cancer.
Born November 3, 1897 in Randolph,
Utah to Henry and Pauline Bluemel Hoffman. Married Rosetta Jones
September 4, 1918, Logan LDS Temple. Served a mission in Rochester, New
York in 1919 and remained an active member of the Ogden 13th Ward.
Educated in Randolph and Agriculture College in Logan, was a self
employed cattle rancher in Rich County.
Survivors: two sons, Verl and
Floyd, both Randolph; two daughters, Mrs. Basil (Allyce) Hussey, North
Ogden; Miss Melba Hoffman, Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted
Saturday, February 1, 1 p.m., in the Randolph Chapel with Bishop Bart
Argyle officiating. The viewing will be at 12 noon, at the Randolph
Chapel. Interment, Randolph Cemetery.
The family has requested in lieu of
flowers, you may make donations to the Community Nursing/Hospice, 1190
E. 1450 So. Clearfield, Ut 84015, in the name of Leonard Hoffman.
Elizabeth "Lottie" Charlotte Jones Jackson

Lottie Jackson, 89, passed away May 27, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born February 14, 1901 in
Randolph, Utah to Matilda Norris and Heber Burch Jones. Lottie was a
great lady and a sweetheart to all that had the pleasure of loving and
knowing her. She married Loran Jackson December 12, 1923; he preceded
Lottie in death January 15, 1986.
Survived by four daughters, Drue
Jacobs, Gay Hawkins, of Salt Lake; Beulah Turner and husband Dan,
Orangevale, Calif.; Norma Cornia and husband Floyd, Randolph; 11
grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren;
sister, Edith Larsen and husband Ruben; two brothers, James Paul Jones;
Dave Jones and wife Theora. Preceded in death by brother, Calvin Joens;
two sisters, Isabell Jackson and Phoebe Early.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, May 30, 1990, at 1 p.m., in the Randolph Ward Chapel.
Friends may call at the Crandall Funeral Hoe, 800 Uinta St., Evanston,
Wyo., on Tuesday May 29, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the
services at the Randolph Ward Chapel. Interment, Randolph Cemetery.
Minnie Louella McKinnon

RANDOLPH, Utah--Minnie
Louella Marshall McKinnon, age 95, of Randolph, Utah and Evanston,
Wyoming, died in a Mesa, Arizona hospital of complications following
surgery on Sunday, Nov. 24, 1991.
She was born December 10, 1895 in Randolph, Utah to William A. and
Tamson (Egan) Marshall. She married Leo McKinnon March 12, 1918 in Salt
Lake City, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona LDS
Temple. They had traveled to Salt Lake City to be married in the Salt
Lake LDS Temple, but when they arrived it was closed due to the flu
epidemic of 1918. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1958. She was
a member of the LDS Church and was active all of her life. She held
many positions in the Church, organist in Relief Society, secretary of
the Stake Primary, a visiting teacher, and taught Relief Society until
the time of her stroke.
She worked as a telephone operator in Randolph until they went to dial
phones. She was on the War Bond Committee during World War II and was
instrumental in selling many bonds. She was Rich County chairman for
many years. At a time when most people were retired, she was a news
correspondent for the Uinta County Herald. She gathered news, met her
deadlines and took her own photos. She was a member of the D.U.P. and
of the Ladies Literary Club.
She is survived by two children, Byron E. McKinnon and his wife Ella
Mae, Mesa, Ariz.; Arlene Hirst and her husband Clair, Evanston, Wyo.
She had lived in Evanston, at the home of her daughter Arlene, since a
stroke in 1988. Also surviving, 10 grandchildren, 38
great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. Peceded in death
by her husband, a son Frank and two brothers, Willy and Darrel Marshall.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m. in the Randolph
LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Crandall Funeral Home in
Evanston, Wyoming on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church one
hour prior to the services. Burial, Randolph Cemetery. Arrangements are
with the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming.
Mildred Hatch Thomson

RANDOLPH--Mildred Hatch Thomson, age 92, died December 12, 1992 at her home.
Born February 14, 1900 in Woods Cross, Utah, a daughter of Jabez and
Annie Putnam Hatch. Married Hyrum A. Thomson June 28, 1922 in the Salt
Lake LDS Temple; he died February 24, 1974. She was a member of the
Randolph 2nd Ward, very active serving in many capacities for her
church.
Survived by sons and daughter-in-law, LeRoy Thomson, Glen Thomson,
Beverly Thomson, all of Randolph; Gerald Thomson, Layton; Franklin
Thomson, Vernal; and Eugene Thomson, El Toro, Calif.; 25 grandchildren;
many great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Hatch,
Dale Hatch, both Randolph; Abbie Telford, and Edith Perkins, both
Farmington; Zelma Lynn of Echo; and Dee V. Hatch, Springville.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, December 15, in the
Randolph Ward Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday morning, 10 to 11:45
a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery under the
direction of Thomson's Vernal Mortuary.
Grace M. Vernon

Grace M. Vernon, 74, died June 15, 1990, at home in Woodruff, Utah.
Born July 2, 1915 in Coalville,
Utah to Samuel and Dora (Staley) Moore. Married Lionel Joseph Vernon,
July 6, 1933 at Coalville, Utah. Solemnized in Logan LDS Temple,
November 2, 1953.
Survived by husband, Joe, Woodruff,
Utah; son, Ken Vernon, Woodruff, Utah; daughter, Mrs. Jack (Jo Ann)
Bell, Randolph, Utah; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
brothers, Blaine Moore, Henefer, Utah; Lyle Moore, Murray, Utah; Dale
Moore, and Max Moore, both Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Pauline Cole,
Green River, Utah.
Funeral services will be on Monday,
1 p.m., in the Woodruff Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Crandall
Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
and at the church in Woodruff, Utah one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Woodruff Cemetery. Arrangements: Crandall Funeral
Home.
