Dan Mercur returned yesterday from his sheep ranch near Blackfoot, Ida.


Ople Read, the novelist, will lecture at the Congregational church Monday night at 8 o'clock. The lecture Is the second in the Lyceum bureau course.

The football game between the Salt Lake and Ogden High School teams will be played Saturday on the Glenwood park grounds.

E. C. Baker, 2855 Pingree avenue, left last night for Touti, ill., in response to a telegram Informing him of the serious illness in that city of his mother.

William W. Anderson of Salt Lake was a visitor in Ogden yesterday.

Mr. Bennett of San Francisco, owner of the Bennett block of Ogden, Is In the city on business. Mr. Bennett was formerly connected with the Rio Grande Western railroad at Salt Lake.

Mr. I. Marks of Salt Lake was In Ogden yesterday on business.

Mrs. P. Healy returned yesterday from the East.
