Mrs. Durkee
DURKEE, E. R., MRS., Widow of M. Durkee, who was born September 28, 1812, and died October 3, 1874. She was born in Burke, Caledonia Co., Vt.. September 28, 1811; Resides Sec, 13; Huntley P.O.; came to Cook Co., Ill., in 1830, and to McHenry Co., March 10, 1856; owns 155 acres of land, valued at $40 per acre. Was married January 1, 1839; had seven children - five living; had one son. Giles M. Durkee, private Co. E, Ninety-fifth Ill. Inf.

Daniel Cargill Faris
Daniel Cargill Faris, born June 21, 1843, in Bloomington, Indiana. Residence, West Barnet, Vermont. Educated at the district school. Degrees, A. B. and A. M. Occupation, teacher of the freedmen one year; student of Theology four years; preacher twelve years. Position, Home Ministary in Minnesota for two and a half years. LELAND, Henry Martyn; born, Danville, Vt., (Caledonia Co) Feb. 16, 1843; son of Leander B. and Zilpha (Tifft) Leland; educated in public schools of Worcester and Milbury, Mass.; married at Milbury, Mass., 1867, Miss Ellen R. Hall. Learned machinist's trade in Worcester, Mass.; tool maker in U.S. Armory, Springfield, Mass., 1862-65; was connected for twenty years with Brown & Sharp, Providence, R.I., becoming superintendent of sewing machine department; removed to Detroit, 1890, and started small machine shop on Bates St. as manufacturer of special machinery; organized the Leland & Falconer Manufacturing Co., of which was manager until merged into Cadillac Motor Car Co., 1904, of which has since been general manager. Member Detroit Board of Commerce. Republican. Presbyterian. Recreation: Automobiling. Office: 1343 Cass Av. Residence: 69 Watson St.
