Ocotober 14, 1807

A letter from Darby, Vermont, mentions, that on the 27th ult., during a severe thunderstorm, the wind blew down several houses; and that hail fell from 6 to 10 inches deep, and that many of the pieces of ice were as large as a hen's egg.

A Prominent Citizen's Arrest. NEWPORT, VT, January 24.—S. M. Fields, a prominent citizen and railroad contractor, has been arrested by the treasury department for Passing counterfeit half dollars.
