Miss Lula Boisseau and Miss Alice Tubeville, who have been guests of Miss Virginia Lacy at Scottsburg, Va., have returned to Danville.

- Hazel Thompson of Burlington, Elizabeth M---tin of R-boro, N.C., F.K. Thomas, K.W. Patton and Thomas Robbins were the house guests of Misses Elizabeth and Mae Patterson and John Patterson during the Christmas holidays. They attended two dances while here.
- Misses Hazel and Louise Thompson and Miss Woods accompanied by Dr. Karl Soon of Burlington, motored here Wednesday, arriving in town for the New Years dance given at Patterson hotel.
- Broadus Rigsby and Charlie Harris, of R-boro, N.C. attended the New years dance here Wednesday night.
- Misses Janie and Anne Chaffin of Scottsburg were visitors in the city Friday.
- Bernard Woody of Richmond has returned home after visiting relatives here.
- Albert Dunn of Burkeville is a visitor in town.
- Otis Owen has returned to Richmond after visiting relatives here.
- Mrs. James Hill has returned home after visiting relatives in Cape Charles.
- H.M. Powell and Edward Anderson have returned home after visiting friends in Richmond.
- Albert Anderson will leave Sunday for Medical college in Richmond after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Anderson.
- Miss Lena Cohen has returned to her home in Durham N.C. after visiting relatives and friends here.
- Miss Eleanor Sanford has returned to Averett College in Danville after spending the holidays here with her parents Dr. and Mrs. T. Ryland Sanford.
- Mrs. A.R. Mitchell, of Richmond, has returned home after spending the Christmas holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Wilburn.

- Miss Lelia Doan of Petersburg is the guest of Miss Virginia Owen.
- Miss Martha Mosely of Birmingham Ala is visiting friends here.
- Miss Inez DeJarnette spent the holidays here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.M. DeJarnette.
- Clairborne Morton has returned to Wilson, N.C. after visiting his mother here.
- Soummer Ballow, of Rocky Mount, N.C. attended the dances here last week.
- Miss Annie Walters attended the New Years Dances at Mt. Airy, N.C.
- Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McKinney have returned to their home in Pontiac, Mich., after visiting relatives here.
- Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vannoy have returned home in Lynchburg after being the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Beazley during the holidays.
- Francis Monahan has returned from a trip to Africa.
- Mrs. R.O. Craddock of Halifax has been chosen organist of the Baptist church here.
- Mrs. Robert Moorefield of Richmond, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Bailey Griffin, on Wall street.
- Mrs. Louis Huckabee and little son, Willis, have returned home after visiting relatives in Richmond.
- Miss Jeannette Currin has returned home after visiting Miss Gladys Speed in Durham, N.C.
- Mrs. Albert Dixon is critically ill at the Halcyon Hospital.

- B.A. Bailey, of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. W.W. Anderson and little son, Sam and Miss Loveleen Bailey, of Danville, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Dixie.
- Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Wilborn are in East Radford for a few days.
- Wayland Wilborn, of Virginia, was operated on here at the Halycon hospital for appendicitis. He was getting along as well as can be expected.
- Henry Nelson who has been very ill at his home on Wilborn avenue with diphtheria is much better today.
- Misses Lucy James and Carrie Dickerson left Sunday for Washington where they are teaching school, after visiting their parents here.
- Miss Elizabeth Edmondson has returned to school after spending the holidays here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edmondson.
- Frank and Arch Edmondson spent the holidays here with their parents.
- Mrs. E.Y. Wimbush, of Nathalie, was a visiting in town Monday.
- Miss Kittie Woodson left Thursday for Florida and Cuba where she will spend two months with relatives.
- Mrs. Charlie Dickerson has returned home after visiting her mother at Bon Air.
- Miss Helen Poindexter has returned home after attending a house party in Winston-Salem, N.C.
- Misses Jeanette Ingle and Myrtle Allen spent the holidays at Republican Grove as the guest of Miss Rebecca Jennings.
- The junior choir of the Presbyterian Church will meet at the home of Mrs. C.B. Lacy, Friday night at 7:30.
- The Philathea Class of Mrs. C.B. Lacy, teacher of the Presbyterian church, will hold an important meeting at Miss Billy Ingram's Thursday evening at 7:30.
- R.C. Beazley is in Danville on business.
- Mrs. J.L. Ramsey who was operated on at the Halcyon Hospital Saturday is reported as not doing so well.

SOUTH BOSTON, Jan. 7
- Misses Louise and Frances Reaves and Mary Peters have returned to school in Harrisonburg after spending the holidays here with their parents.
- S.F. Gilliland and sons, Leroy and Trent, Walt Hazelwood and Addison Marable attended a show in Danville yesterday.
- Mrs. Walter Guthrie will leave for her home in Henderson, N.C., today after visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Poindexter.
- J.L. Neal is in Baltimore on business.
- Dr. and Mrs. J.J. Neal, of Danville, spent the week-end here with Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Neal.
- Miss Dorothy Childress returned to Fredericksburg Monday where she is attending school after spending the holidays where with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Childress.
- William Wade who has been visiting relatives here, returned to Winston-Salem Monday.
- Mrs. C.F. Chandler has returned to Newport News after visiting relatives here. She will leave for Camp Meade next week to visit relatives.
- Mrs. Louis Johnston delightfully entertained the Helping Hand society at her home on upper Main street Monday evening. Delicious refreshments were served. The evening was enjoyed by all.
- Miss Mary Hewitt who has been visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Motley, has returned to her home in Charlotte, N.C.
- Miss Mildred Chandler who spent the holidays here, has returned to her home in Pulaski.
- Miss Margaret Chandler left for Farmville Monday after visiting relatives here.
- Miss Christine Reaves has returned to Charlotte, N.C., where she is teaching school, after spending the holidays here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Reaves on upper Main street.
- Miss Alice Wimbush of Nathalie, was a visitor in town Monday.
- Alfred Childress, of South Hill, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Childress.
- Bob Ferril moved into his new home this week, on Peach avenue.
- Mercer East's new home has been completed on Logan street. He expects to move in this week.
