Russell D. Colbert and Miss Fannie C. Hines of Gretna were quietly married at the Methodist parsonage at 3:30 o’clock Dec. 31 (1924), Rev. Jno R. Gill officiating. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Colbert motored to Altavista where they boarded a train for a northern trip. They returned to Gretna Sunday Jan. 4, where they will reside. The bride who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs A. Hines of near Gretna has been teaching in the public schools of Pittsylvania county for a few years. The bridegroom is a bookkeeper for the Co-operative Tobacco Growers Association at Gretna.
