Bangor, Kitsap County, Washington

"Bangor, on Hood Canal, in Kitsap County. The place was formerly called 'Three Spits,' as there are three spits adjacent to one another jutting out into Hood Canal. When a postoffice was being established there the postoffice department gave it the name of Bangor. (H.W. Goodwin, Names MSS, letter 412)"
