Bremerton,
Kitsap County, Washington
"Bremerton, a city on Port Orchard, Kitsap County. It
has grown into importance on account of the location there of the United
States Navy Yard, Puget Sound. It was named in honor of William Bremer,
who is regarded as the founder of the city. He was born in Seesen, Duchy
of Burnswick, Germany, in 1863. His experiences in Washington reached
back to Territorial days. He died at his home in Seattle on December 28,
1910."
