Tullis Cemetery

"One of Lewis County's first 'town cemeteries' was the
Tullis cemetery, on the higher ground that is today between West First and Hanson streets along E street in Centralia.
Before 1893, when north Centralia was to be platted, more than 100 remains were taken from the Tullis Cemetery
and moved to the first Mountain View cemetery, which is in the rear of today's Mountain View burial park. Whether
the Tullis cemetery dead started the first Mountain View, or whether it was already established, is not certain.
In any event, Mountain View acquired most of the settlers of the earliest days and as modern times came, a number
of family burial plots gave up their dead to be moved there." [Source: "Daily Chronicle", Centralia
