June 5, at home of son H. A. Bishop, Waitsburg. Myron Fillmore "Grandpa" Bishop, Waitsburg, aged 95/Father of Harvey, Hancock, Wis, Parker an Herbert, Waitsburg, Allen, Bend, Ore., Harold, Honolulu and Millie Dayton; brother of Mrs. Helen Long, Waitsburg. and Wyatt Bishop San Diego. 18 grandchildren an 18 great-grandchildren also survive Born November 13, 1951, in Meadsville, Penn Member ,of Methodist church. Nelson G. Blalock
NOTED OREGON PIONEER DIES AT WALLA WALLA
Walla Walla, Wash., March 15-Dr. Nelson G. Blalock, pioneer surgeon of eastern Washington, member of the Washington constitutional convention, prominent Democrat and twice mayor of Walla Walla, died of paralysis today, aged 77. Dr. Blalock served in the civil war as surgeon in the One Hundred and Fifteenth Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He came to Washington by ox team in 1873.
He was a pioneer orchardist and established the famous Blalock fruit farm near here. Blalock island in the Columbia river was named for him. He was a director in the National Rivers and Harbors Congress from its beginning. He was born on a farm in North Carolina.

James Bloom
James Bloom, a pioneer of Cove, Union county, died at Walla Walla where he went to undergo an operation. Mr. Bloom has been ill for a few weeks. He was buried at Cove.

Gorge M. Bowlus
At the residence of Lew. Benge, in this valley, on the 8th November, of typhoid fever, Mr. Gorge M. Bowlus, late of Warren county, Indiana, aged 32 years. Indiana papers please copy.

Ted Bradley
PAYS DEATH PENALTY
Walla Walla Wash. (AP) Ted Bradley was hanged here early today for the murder more than two years ago of George Ikeda, Seattle Japanese. The trap was sprung at 12:05 1-2 and at 12:20 A.M. the prison physician declared him dead.

J. O. Cooper, 64 years of age and a pioneer of 1869, died at Walla Walla and was buried with honors.

J. P. Gardner
Walla Walla, Wash., Oct. 24 – J. P. Gardner, a pioneer of Wallowa County, Oregon, died in this city today. He had been a resident of Walla Walla for the past four years.

Mrs. Geany
Mrs. Benjamin Geany died of typhoid fever on October 31, at her home on Dry creek. In the death of Mrs. Geaney, Walla Walla valley loses one of its earliest pioneers. Deceased was born in Newton Sands, county Kerry, Ireland, in the year 1836. She left Ireland alone at the age of 15 years, going to England, and form thence to America. She had neither money nor friends when she landed in America, but, being possessed of remarkable perseverance and great energy, she succeeded in making her way. She was married in Portland, Or., on October 1, 1861, to Benjamin Geaney, and in the same year removed to Walla Walla valley, where she had since resided. Mrs. Geaney was ever noted for her great industry, economical manner and frank way. She left a husband and five children, who deeply mourn her loss.

Al Humphrey
Sad - Mr. George Humphrey on Thursday last received a letter from a friend in Walla Walla, informing him that his son, Al Humphrey, from whom he had heard nothing for about five months had more than likely been murdered near that place.

T.C. Kellan
Died - At the House of John Chisholm, on the 11th inst., T.C. Kellan, aged 45 years. The deceased had been four years a resident of this place, and was much respected. He was buried on Sunday last, by the Masonic fraternity, with the usual honors of the order.

Whereas; It has pleased our Heavenly Father The Grand Master above, in his Divine wisdom to call from our midst our beloved Brother T.C. Kellam, late of Olympia Lodge No. 1, A.F. & A.M., we recognize the secret workings of "Him who doeth all things well," permitting not the little sparrow to fall to the ground without his knowledge; herefore, be it
Resolved, That to the relations of our deceased Brother, in whatever clime this may reach them and to his numerous friends abroad and in our midst, we offer sympathy and condolence for their sore affliction and loss, together with prayer that the Almighty in his infinite goodness will comfort them in their sorrow and guide and protect them through life.
Resolved, That in respect to the memory of our departed Brother, the Altar be draped in mourning and that the brethren wear the usual badge of mourning for the space of thirty days.
Resolved; That these Resolutions be published in the Walla Walla Union, and Walla Walla Statesman.

Rev. V. Marshall Law
Dr. Law Dead
-- An Episcopal Minister, formerly of Walla Walla, Dies in Texas
Rev. V. Marshall Law, formerly rector of the Episcopal church at Walla Walla and well known in Pendleton where he frequently held services, died in Clarendon, Texas, a few days ago. Rev. Victor Marshall Law was called to Clarendon, Tex., by the bishop of that diocese and started on his work a few weeks ago. His family left the home in Oakland, where Dr. Law has been stationed for several years, to remain in San Francisco until arrangements were made to join the head of the family at Clarendon.
On April 20 Mrs. Law received a telegram stating that her husband had been stricken with paralysis, and on the following Sunday left for his bedside. During the last week daily telegrams informed the family of the patient’s condition. Each day the news was more encouraging, until Friday, when a change for the wore was noted. Early Saturday morning Mrs. Law telegraphed to her relatives the news of her husband’s death. Mr. Law was stricken with paralysis about eighteen months ago, but the stroke was of short duration, and after his arrival in Clarendon he wrote that he had entirely recovered.
Deceased was a graduate of Cornell College and also of the Hahnemann Medical College of Chicago. Mrs. Law was at her husband’s bedside when he passed away, having arrived in Clarendon two days before his death. She immediately left for San Francisco with the body and will arrive here on Tuesday.

Joseph H. McCoy
Walla Walla, Wash, May 19 – Joseph H. McCoy, a pioneer, died at his home here last night. He was a native of Oregon and has been a resident of this valley since 1859. He was brought here by his father, who took up a homestead in 1859 and was educated at Whitman. He was for many years engaged in horse raising and served for a time as sheriff of Umatilla county, Oregon. He is survived by his wife and four children.

Burt Owens
OWENS—June 7 at a local hospital, Burt Owens of 1019 Clinton aged 83 years, husband of Mrs. Selna Owens; father of Alton Owens and Mrs. Clara Brandt of Boise and Clarence Owens of California. Also survived by three brothers and two sisters in Norway. Born September 4, 1863 i Norway. Charter member. of Trinity lodge, I.O.O.F. Remains a Cookerly and Groseclose: Funeral home. (Paid notice)
Burt Owens, 83 Dies Saturday But Owens of 1019 Clinton, a resident of Walla Walla since 1891, died Saturday afternoon at a local hospital at the age of 82. Born in Norway on September 4, 1863, he came to the United States at the age of 17, living first in Minneapolis and then in Seattle before coming here. He was a painter by trade, but had been retired for several years. In 1893 he was married here; his wife, Mrs. Selna Owens, survives him, as do two sons, Alton Owens of Boise and Clarence Owens of California, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Brandt of Boise. He is also survived - by three brothers two sisters in Norway. He was a charter member of Trinity lodge, I.O.O.F., and held 25 and 50 year jewels from that organization.

Eastern Oregon -- J. B. Peterson, late of Arlington, died in Walla Walla April 13th, of heart failure. He was 84 years of age.

Mrs. Pettybone
Mrs. Pettybone, an old pioneer in the Walla Walla valley, died at her home in Dixie, Wash., on Monday last. The funeral service was conducted by Elder J. B. Daisley, on Tuesday, at Dixie.

Frank Stone
Died- On the 16th inst., Frank, son of Frank and Madeline Stone, aged 5 years. The funeral will take place at the residence of the parents, at one o'clock, tomorrow. (Sunday)

Accident-The young son of Frank Stone, whose death is noticed in this paper, received some internal injury, about three weeks ago, from a fall while playing with his mates, with a swing. He was not at first supposed to be fatally injured, but his Physician has been unable to locate the injury or afford him relief.

A.S. Van Horrn
DEATH OF A WALLA WALLA PIONEER Had Lived in the County for About Forty Years.
Walla Walla. Wash.. Nov. 30. - A. S. Van Horrn, an old pioneer, died in the hospital in this city last night of congestion of the liver. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1833, crossed the plains in 1849 and settled in Salt Lake. He came to Walla Walla in 1859 and was one of the best known pioneers in eastern Washington.
