Kaline, Birger
Birger Kaline, age 77 years, of Everson, Rt. No. 1, passed away at his home suddenly Sunday, Oct. 14, (1956). He had been a resident of Whatcom County for the past 40 years. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a. m. from the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden with Rev. M. Dodsworth officiating. Interment Jobe Cemetery at Northwood. Kelly, Robert J.
Robert J. “Bob” Kelly, age 46 years, of Deming, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 15, (1952). Mr. Kelly had been a life resident of Whatcom County and operated his own logging camp. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Kelly; four sons, Clifford, Gordon, Robert and Jimmy, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Joe Louis, of Rt. 1, Everson; seven half-sisters, in Canada; many nephews and nieces, and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a. m. within the Cathedral Chapel of the Westford-Beck Funeral Home, with Rev. Hansen, of the Sumas Methodist Church, officiating.  Kuntz, C. G. 'Jack'
A memorial service for C. Gardrow "Jack" Kuntz of Deming will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Yakima, with the Rev. Mark Snelling officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Bethany Cemetery at Nugents Corner, with the Rev. Bob Friske officiating. Mr. Kuntz died of a heart attack Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 81. Born Dec. 18, 1917, to L.F. and Hazel Kuntz in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, he graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. Mr. Kuntz earned a teaching degree from Lewiston State Normal School and later earned a second degree from the University of Idaho and a master's degree from Central Washington University. In 1942, he met and married June L. Dillon in Sandpoint, Idaho, and they moved to Selah, where he taught school and worked at the Hanford nuclear reservation in the summers during World War II. In 1947, they moved to Yakima, where he taught school at Castlevale Grade and Franklin Junior High schools for more than 30 years before he retired. He enjoyed working on his hobby farm in West Valley, where he raised cattle and cared for his daughter's horses. He also enjoyed bridge, golf, fishing, bowling and traveling. His wife, brother Dell Kuntz and sister Dorothea Jacobs preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter Kathy S. Henderson of Deming brother Bill Kuntz of Bonners Ferry two grandchildren two great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Jerns Funeral Chapel.
