Notes:

Horatio "Kinsbury" is Horatio Kingsbury [c1785-1845] Ship Joiner at the Washington Navy Yard. Kingsbury is listed on the Washington Navy Yard 1815 Ship Joiners petition for higher wages which they were granted.
Letters of Joiners About Wages in 1815
Kingsbury is also on the 1819 Washington Navy Yard employees and was paid $1.56 per diem
Washington Navy Yard 1819-1820 Payroll
and 1829 listing of Washington Navy Yard employees and was paid $ 1.80 per diem
Washington Navy Yard Employees in April 1829
Ship Joiner was considered to be an elite trade and one of the most highly skilled in the shipyards.
Horatio Kingsbury is possibly the son of a John Kingsbury of Prince Georges County. He married Eleanor Fowler on December 27, 1808 in the home of her father in Frederick County. Their children included Charlotte, Sarah, Caroline, Thomas Peyton, and William O. The family in 1822 lived on Pennsylvania Ave. West, near the Capitol. They were members of the Ebenezer Methodist congregation. Horatio was originally buried on February 10, 1845 in the Old Ebenezer Cemetery and reburied in December 1898 to the Congressional Cemetery.

Rachael Medcalf is 10 years old at the time of the contract. Her father, Hezekial Medcalf, is listed as head of household in the 1810 census for Frederick County, next door to Zadock Fowler [possibly related to Horatio's spouse, Eleanor Fowler.]
