				City of Washington

I hereby Certify that I have known Charlotte a Coloured woman the property of the late
George Pickett of Richmond Va. for many years, and that she is, and has been the wife of
William Muse also for many years - I further Certify that James Currie who sold
Charlotte to her present owner married the eldest daughter of the said George Pickett to
whom she may have divested by the said Pickett. The parties William Muse and
Catherine [sic] his wife have been long known to me and I believe them to be orderly and
respectable
