George Miller Pope, (Timothy, Gershom, Seth, John, Seth.) Born May 12, 1817; d. Feb. 25, 1901, at Orleans, Nebraska. Married (1), Almira e. Castle, Jan. 27, 1842. She died 1866; m. (2), mrs. Lucretia Watson, April 27, 1870. She died 1871. Married (3), mrs. Sarah Keith, nov.11, 1872. He was born May 12,1817, in St. Lawrence County, where his early life was spent. He removed to Wisconsin in the early fifties where he operated a saw-mill. He served in the Civil War in Company C., 10th Wisconsin Infantry, as a fifer, was mustered out after two years service on account of ill health. After living at La Crosse several years he moved with his family in 1879, to Nelson, Nebraska, where he spent five years. He then went to Harlan County, where he homesteaded. Later lived in Orleans where he spent the remainder of his life. He untied with the church when a young man and was a man much respected. He was a member of G.A.R.

Sophronia Sarah Pope. Born Nov. 2, 1845; m. June 30, 1867, Benjamin F. Perry, at Menosha, Wisconsin.

ii. Almira Elizabeth, b. July 26, 1874; m. Jan. 23, 1904, Oren Bert Covey. Children: Kathryn Clarice, Bert Perry.
iii. Roy Vincent, b. Feb.27, 1882; m. Nov. 10, 1906, Annie Stubstad. Children: Dorothy Verne, Dwain Evertt.
