Buss, Albert (3 Apr. 1859 – 24 May 1933)

* Albert Buss of Curtiss died Saturday evening, May 27, at the age of seventy-four years, one month and twenty-four days, a stroke being the cause of his departure. Funeral services were held at the Reformed church in Curtiss Tuesday, May 24, Rev. H. K. Hartmann officiating, and internment was made in the Curtiss cemetery. The deceased is survived by two sons, Emil and Herman, and one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Lulloff, all of Curtiss. One son, Fred, died in the war; Carl, another son, two years ago; William, in the woods when twenty years old when a tree fell on him; two children in infancy; one brother and one sister in Germany. His wife preceded him in death August 5, 1930.

Buss, Albert Mrs. (1863? – 5 Aug. 1930)

* Mrs. Albert Buss of Curtiss, age sixty-seven, passed away suddenly at the Marshfield hospital on Tuesday night following an operation for appendicitis on Friday of last week. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon, Rev. H. Hartman of Colby officiating, from the Curtiss German Reform church at 2:00 P.M. She leaves to mourn her sudden death, her husband, one son, Herman, two daughters, Mrs. Emil Buss and Mrs. Bernard Lueloff of Owen. She was born in Germany and came here with her family thirty-seven years ago and has since resided at their farm four miles southwest of Owen.


Buss, Fred (1892? – 16 June 1952)

* Fred Buss, 60, Abbotsford, died at 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was admitted to the hospital June 4.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body is reposing. Burial will be made in the family lot in the town of Green Grove. The Rev. Richard Harrison will officiate.

Mr. Buss was born Nov. 25, 1891, in the town of Green Grove, where his parents were pioneer settlers. Before moving to Abbotsford, about 25 years ago, he operated the Oakland cheese factory there. He was unmarried.

He is survived by two brothers, Herbert and Franklin, Curtiss; and a sister, Miss Martha Buss, also of Curtiss.

Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.


Buss, George (3 June 1888 – 18 Feb. 1950)

* George Buss, age 61, a former resident of Green Grove, died Saturday. Funeral services were held from the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, Tuesday afternoon.

George Buss passed away at Milan Saturday at the age of 61 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Rev. H. E Malotky officiating and burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery at Milan. Pall bearers were Fred and Frank Marquardt, Earl and Harold Schultz and Einar and Oscar Olson.

The deceased was born on June 3, 1888, and spent his boyhood with his parents on a farm in the town of Green Grove, Clark county. When he married in 1917, he settled on a farm in the town of Holton, Marathon county. The past three years, he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Vance Yost, in Milan. He had been in poor health the past several years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Vance Yost, of Milan, two sons, Chester Buss of Abbotsford and James Buss of Curtiss; two step-daughters, Mrs. Arthur Opitz and Mrs. Ervin Fritsch, both of Sheboygan; one step son, Edward Olson of Colby; one sister, Martha Buss; three brothers, Fred, Herbert and Frank Buss; 11 grand children. His wife died in 1929. His parents, one brother and one sister also preceded him in death.


Buss, Herman A. (21 Mar. 1898 – 4 June 1950)

* Herman A. Buss of Curtiss died Sunday morning at the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison at the age of 52 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Griebenow Funeral Home in Owen, Rev. O. K. Odland officiating, and burial was made in the Green Grove cemetery.

Mr. Buss was born on March 21, 1898, in Green Grove. He was married there to Louise Lulloff in Jan. 31, 1919. They were residents there until they moved to Curtiss.

Surviving are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Marie (Wauneeta) Pacchera of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. George (Wanda) Duchane of Highwood, Ill., and Joyce, at home, a son, Norbert, of Highwood, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Emil Buss and Mrs. Barney Lulloff, and one grandchild.
