Fred Dallman (5 Apr. 1888 – 10 Dec. 1949)

* Relatives received word of the death of Fred J. Dallman, Colton, Oregon, former resident of this community, on Saturday, December 10th of a heart attack. The body arrived at the Lulloff Funeral Home on Wednesday and funeral services were held Thursday at 1:30 at the funeral home. A more complete obituary will be published next week.

* Funeral services were held for Fred Dallman, Colton, Oregon, Thursday, December 15 at the Lulloff Funeral Home with Rev. Hoffman officiating. Burial was in the Beaver cemetery.
Mr. Dallman was born on April 5, 1888 at Fairfax, Minn., where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Emma Gruenhagen in October 1912 at Fairfax, Minn. Three children were born to this union.
In 1923 the family moved to Wisconsin, settling in Riplinger, where he was employed at the box factory. Later they moved on a farm east of Colby where Mrs. Dallman passed away on January 18, 1941.
Mr. Dallman then sold the farm and went to Los Angeles, California to make his home with his daughter, Hela. While there he married Flossie Louis in 1945. They later moved to Colton, Oregon on a small farm where he passed away on December 10th of a heart attack.
Surviving are his wife, Flossie Dallman, two sons, Marvin, Wells, Minnesota, Vernard of Marshfield; one daughter, Hela of Los Angeles, California.
Pallbearers were Vaughn Daly, Merl Daly, Lyle Cornwall, Byron Hoke, Carl and Victor Dallman.

* Fred Dallman, formerly of Cherokee, died in Oregon. The body arrived in Colby Wednesday morning and will be in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home until 1:30 P.M. this Thursday afternoon when funeral services will be held. Obituary will be published next week.
Fred Dallmann (11 Nov. 1856 – 20 Nov. 1933)

* Fred Dallmann, who suffered a stroke last Thursday, passed away on Monday evening. Funeral services will he held Friday afternoon at 1:45 at the St. John’s Ev. Church, Rev. G. F. Hahn officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.
The deceased was born in West Prussia November 11, 1856, thus reaching the age of seventy-seven years. He came to the United States when twenty-six years of age and settled in Minnesota. He was married in Minnesota, March 18, 1883, to Welhelmine Karow where they resided for fourteen years. They lived at Lomira for twelve years and about twenty-five years ago settled on a farm southwest of Colby. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary March 17, 1933.
Besides his wife, his departure is mourned by four sons and two daughters, namely: Wm. Dallmann, Colby; Mrs. O. H. Davis, Unity; Mrs. Wm. Dohrman, Mayville, Wisconsin; Edwin Dallmann, Lomira, Wisconsin; Ben Dallmann, Greenwood, Wisconsin; Alvin Dallmann, Greenlake, Wis. Seven children preceded him in death. Surviving brother and sisters, all in Minnesota: Gustave Dallmann, Louisburg; Mrs. Gust Hein, Odessa; Mrs. Wm. Koehler, Holloway; Mrs. Carl Prein, Bellingham. Also seventeen grand children and five great grand children.
The deceased was a kind and indulgent husband and father, of a friendly disposition and never forgot the hospitable ways of the early settlers.

Funeral services for Fred Dallmann were held at the St. John’s Ev. church Friday afternoon, Rev. G. H. Hahn officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were August Schoelzel, Alfred Herrmann, E. D. Loos, Henry Ortmeier, George Schneider and Henry Forbish.

Anderson and grandson, Dale, of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Gust Dallmann of Louisburg, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koehler of Holloway, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Gust Hein and son, Herman, of Odessa, Minnesota; Mrs. Bertha Priem of Bellingham, Minnesota; Mrs. Wm. Dohrman and son, Merlin, and daughter, Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dohrman, Mrs. Fred Dallmann, Jr., and Mr. Lester Albert of Mayville, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dallmann and son, John, of Lomira, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dallmann and Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf of Greenwood, Wisconsin.

* Unity – Mrs. Theodore (Hertha) Dallmann, 76, Unity, died at 6:41 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Friday.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Elton H. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rux/Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.
The former Hertha Freyholtz was born in the town of Wellington, Renville County, Fairfax, Minn., to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Freyholtz. On June 10,1924 in Fairfax, she and Mr. Dallmann were married. He died May 15, 1979. They had observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1974.
The couple farmed in the Riplinger area and from 1934 to 1945 operated a tavern in Riplinger. They then farmed in the town of Brighton until retiring. Mrs. Dallmann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two sons, Corwin of Unity and Dennis of Spencer; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Franz and Arnold, and a sister, Mrs. Helena Klieman, all of Fairfax. Two brothers, one sister, and her parents are deceased.
Theodore Dallmann (30 July 1899 – 15 May 1979)

* Unity – Theodore Dallmann, 79, Unity, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Elton H. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.
Mr. Dallmann was born July 30, 1899, in Fairfax, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dallmann. He received his education in Fairfax and married Hertha Freyholtz June 10, 1924, there. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 1974.
He farmed in the towns of Brighton and Unity and operated a tavern for 10 years in Riplinger. He served on the Riplinger School Board and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Corwin of Unity, and Dennis of Spencer; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, George of Minneapolis; and a sister, Mrs. Art (Jeanette) Kiecker of Fairfax.
He was predeceased by four brothers, three sisters and his parents.
Willamina Dallmann (7 Jan. 1862 – 29 Nov. 1950)

* Mrs. Willamina Dallmann, a former resident of Colby, died at Fond du Lac last week Wednesday, old age complications being the cause of her departure. The body was brought to Colby and funeral services were held at the First Ev. and Reformed church Sunday afternoon, Rev. F. W. Kollath of Dorchester officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were O. W. Sturner, Fred Schmidt, Chas. Rasmussen, Gust Brehm, John Marx and Paul Draeger. Songs by the choir, with Mrs. Rena Bauer at the organ, were “Trauden From Trauden” and “Under His Wing.” The text, requested by Mrs. Dallmann, was Second Timothy 4-7, “I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Mrs. Dallmann, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrich Karrow, was born in Pomeranid, Germany, Jan. 7, 1862, thus reaching the age of 88 years, 10 months and 24 days. She came to the United States when 18 years of age and first settled in Minnesota. She married Fredrich Dallmann at Louisberg, Minn., on March 17, 1842. They came to the town of Hull in 1908 and engaged in farming until 1922 when they moved to the city of Colby, where Mr. Dallmann passed away in 1933. About 15 years ago, she moved to Fond du Lac.
Of thirteen children, surviving are Mrs. Minnie Dohrman of Mayville, Mrs. O. H. (Matha) Davis of Colby, Wm. Dallmann of Greenwood, Alvin Dallman of Louisiana, Edwin Dallmann of Lomira and Benjamin Dallmann of Greenwood.
Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dohrman, Mrs. Lydia Dallmann, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin G. Zieman, Mrs. Ed Schwanke and Mrs. Arnold Enderly of Mayville, Merlin Dohrman and son, Allen, of Beaver Dam, Mr. and Mrs. Edwinn Dallman and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klein of Lomira, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dallmann and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dallmann and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. James Metcloff and Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Metclof of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davis and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Kuehling of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Perschke, Ruben Perschke, Harold Perschke, Mrs. Oscar Anderson and Mrs. Earl Wilkening of Appleton, Minn.
The deceased was a good Christian of a kind and pleasant disposition and will be remembered by many here as a person who always endeavored to perform her duties well – thinking more of her obligations to her family than social pleasures.
