Griepentrog, Adelheid (21 Apr. 1902 – 11 May 1978)

* Spencer – Mrs. Adelheid Griepentrog, 76, formerly of Spencer, died Thursday at Colonial House of Colby where she had been a resident for four years.
Services are set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, the Rev. William H. Ruhbusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rux Funeral Home in Spencer.
The former Adelheid Wellman was born April 21, 1902 in Kenosha. She was married to Frederick Griepentrog Sept. 3, 1924 in Riplinger. They farmed on Route 1, Spencer, until 1954 when they moved to the city of Spencer. Mr. Griepentrog died in 1966.
Mrs. Griepentrog was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two sons, Donald and Eugene, both of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. James (Caroline) Greenwald, Spencer; two stepsons, Elmer Griepentrog and Raymond Griepentrog, both of rural Spencer; 27 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer of Colby, Walter, Fond du Lac; Gerhardt of Oshkosh and Herbert, Marshfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Edna) Kett, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Harvey (Hilda) Koch, Wausau.
She was predeceased by her husband, one son, two grandchildren and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wellman.
Griepentrog, Adeline (30 Sept. 1913 – 11 June 1994)

* Spencer – Adeline Griepentrog, 81, rural Spencer, died June 11, 1994 at her home.
Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home, Spencer, at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. William Ruhbusch of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Schade, Kevin and Roger Martens, Joseph Kilty, Jerry Anderson and Dave Friedmund.
She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Stratford to the late Albert and Lena (Gore) Verch. She received her education in Stratford.
She was married to Elmer A. Griepentrog on May 28, 1932, in Spencer. Together they farmed in the town of Brighton until retirement. They were guardians of three grandchildren. Elmer died on Aug. 17,1993.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Berdine Schade of Colby and Carol Boge of Medford; one sister, Emma Smith of Marshfield; two brothers, Norbert Verch of Argonne and Ellsworth Verch of Stratford; five grandchildren, Nancy Martens of Marshfield, Linda Kilty of Unity, Jenelle Sternitzky of Cannon Falls, Minn., Randy Schade of Colby and Cindy Bruss of West Bend; 10 great-grandchildre; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband and parents, Adeline was also predeceased by her son, Harold, who died Sept. 25, 1976, and by one sister and two brothers.
Griepentrog, Bernice (29 Aug. 1933 – 29 Sept. 1997)

* Spencer – Bernice Griepentrog, 64, Spencer, died Sept. 29, 1997, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. William Ruhbusch will officiate.
Burial will be at West Spencer Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Community Funeral Home in Spencer.
Bernice was born on Aug. 29, 1933, in Unity, to Frank and Leona (Singstock) Ertl. She was married to Eugene Griepentrog on Sept. 11, 1948, in Spencer.
Mrs. Griepentrog received her education in Granton, Neillsville and Spencer schools. She worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Co. for nine years, from 1954 to 1963, and then at Land O’Lakes for 32 years until her retirement in July 1995.
After retiring, she was an active volunteer for the Ponderosa meal program, Goodwill and the Ladies Aid Society. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed traveling extensively and watching football. She had a deep love and devotion to her family.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Griepentrog; three sons, Alan (Mary) Griepentrog of Abbotsford, Roger (Mary Ann) Griepentrog and Ronald (Debra) Griepentrog, all of Spencer; three daughters, Barbara (Jim) Paschke of Spencer, Diane Chapman of Wausau and Connie (Tom) Fehrenbach of Marshfield; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Ertl of Dunbar.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Dorothy Wilhelmine; a sister, Dorothy Ertl, a brother, Clarence Ertl; and a grandson, Corey Griepentrog.
Griepentrog, Elmer August (27 Aug. 1907 – 17 Aug. 1993)

* Spencer – Services for Elmer August Griepentrog, 85, rural Spencer, who died Tuesday night at his home, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home, Spencer.
The Rev. William Ruhbusch of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Schade, Joey and Jeremy Kilty, Roger and Kevin Martens and Dave Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Schwantes, Ernie Pupp, Arnold Bruesewitz, Guy Weidman, Jerry Anderson and Elroy Luepke.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home with a prayer service at 6 tonight.
He was born Aug. 27, 1907, in Spencer, to the late Fred and Ida (Schroeder) Griepentrog. He received his education in the town of Brighton. He married Adeline M. Verch May 28, 1932 in Spencer.
He worked for the Farmer’s Co-op in Spencer for 35 years and also farmed in the town of Brighton until retiring. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Bernadine Schade of Colby and Carol Boge of Medford; one brother, Ray “Stub” Griepentrog of Spencer; one step-sister, Caroline Greenwald of Spencer; two step-brothers, Donald and Eugene Griepentrog, both of Spencer; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by one son.
Griepentrog. Fred (12 Aug. 1881 – 19 Feb. 1966)

* Fred Griepentrog, 84, Spencer, died Saturday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer with the Rev. David T. Pankow officiating. Burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery.
The body will repose at the Jasperson Funeral Home in Spencer unitl time of services.
Mr. Griepentrog was born Aug. 12, 1881, at Spencer, and had operated a farm there until 1954 when he moved to the village of Spencer. Since then he had operated the Gary Café, and had been employed at Trinidal Elevator and George Seitz Tavern until his retirement in 1962.
His marriage to Ida Schroeder, who preceded him in death Aug. 27, 1923, took place September, 1902. Sept. 3, 1924, he was married at the Riplinger Lutheran Church to Adelheid Wellman, who survives.
Mr. Griepentrog was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Spencer.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. James (Caroline) Greenwald, Spencer; four sons, Elmer, Raymond, Eugene and Donald, all of Spencer; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
