Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity for Mrs. Albert Matson of Unity who died in the Marshfield hospital last week Wednesday night at the age of 44 years. Rev. Robert Langseth officiated at the rites. Burial was made in the Unity cemetery. Pall bearers were Phil Pinnecker, Glen Kilty, Otto Kuehling, Floyd Johnson, Eldon Smith and Wilford Atcherson.

Audrey Huber was born on April 29, 1916, in the town of Hull, Marathon county. She had lived in this area all her life and had attended the local schools. Her marriage to Albert Matson took place on January 28, 1941, in Unity. Her husband survives her.

Other survivors are a son, Harvey, and a daughter, Sharon, both at home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Norma) Zadlow of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Norbert (Joyce) Dagenhardt of Austin, Minn.; her father, Henry Huber of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Willard Fass of Kohler, Mrs. Joe Matanke of Racine and Mrs. Walter Dottel of Sheboygan; a brother, Jesse Huber of Anchorage, Alaska. Preceding her in death were her mother; a brother, Roy Huber, who was killed in World War II and a sister, Beatrice.

* Mrs. Albert Matson died Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Marshfield hospital, kidney trouble being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held at the Matson home, three miles west and one mile south of Unity, Friday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock and at the Trinity Lutheran church at Unity at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Olson officiating, and internment will be made in the Unity cemetery.

The deceased is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huber of Colby and was born June 10th, 1913, thus reaching the age of twenty-one years, three months and twenty-six days. She attended high school in Colby for two years and was married to Mr. Albert Matson on May 31, 1929. She is survived by her husband, her parents and two daughters, Norma and Joyce, age four and two years respectively. Also four sisters and two brothers, namely – Mrs. Lillian Faas, Mrs. Walter Doddie and Miss Annattee Huber, all of Sheboygan, Audrey, Roy and Jessie Huber, at home.

The deceased was a good Christian, a kind and loving daughter, wife and mother and her winning and
congenial ways won her many friends who will miss her as well as the members of her family.


Matson, Victor (1869? – 9 Jan. 1949)

* Victor Matson, 80, a former Unity resident, died Sunday night at 10 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ferdinand Ewald, Detroit, Mich.

The body was taken to the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby where funeral services were held at 1 P.M. Thursday followed by another service at 2 P.M. Rev. J. A. Olson officiated and burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Matson was born in Finland. Most of his life was spent on a farm in Unity except for the past five years when he resided at the home of his daughter in Detroit.

Six children survive, Mrs. Ferdinand (Emma) Ewald, Mrs. Clara Vleterson and Edward Matson, all of Detroit; Mrs. Emil (Altha) Johnson, Spencer; and Mrs. William (Florence) Kelty and Albert, Unity.

Victor Matson, 80, a former Unity resident, died Sunday night at 10 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ferdinand Ewald at Detroit, Michigan.
