Seefeld, Albert (14 Mar. 1897 – 13 Oct. 1980)

* Spencer – Albert “Pete” Seefeld, 83, Route 1, died Monday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, north Spencer. The Rev. David Ault is to officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home.

Mr. Seefeld was born March 14, 1897 in the town of Unity and educated in the area schools. He farmed in the town of Unity. On Dec. 12, 1917 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, he married Elsie Hendrickson. She died May 25, 1970.

A son, Virgil, Route 1, Spencer, and two grandchildren survive. A daughter, four brothers and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seefeld, are deceased.

* Spencer – Mrs. Alvina A. Seefeld, 86, Route 1, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Monday.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev. David J. Ault is to officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.

The former Alvina Hendrickson was born March 4, 1895 in the town of Unity, Clark County, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hendrickson. On June 1, 1915 in Riplinger, she and Fred Seefeld were married, They farmed on Route 1, Spencer. He died in 1951.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the Up and Coming Homemakers Club.

Surviving are two children, Paul and Mrs. Eugene (Arlene) Marten, both Route 1, Spencer; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Schmidt of Colby.

Three sons, five brothers and one sister are deceased.

Seefeld, Bernard Louis (8 Apr. 1911 – 28 July 1944)

Unity Soldier Killed in France On July 28, 1944

* Pvt. Bernard Seefeld, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Seefeld, town of Unity, was killed in action in France July 28, 1944. His parents have been informed by the War Department. Entering service Dec. 21, 1943, Pvt. Bernard Seefeld took his training at Camp Croft, S.C., and left the United States for overseas service in June. He was born April ? 1911, and was married to Miss Emma Zitzer in 1930. To ? six children were born, five ? and one girl, the oldest 13 years old and the youngest, a ? eight months old. The fa? live in Sheboygan.

* Funeral services were held in Sheboygan Thursday afternoon for Bernard Louis Seefeldt, whose body was returned from overseas. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Seefeldt of the village and was born April 8th, 1911. He was killed in action in Southern France while serving in the infantry, July 28, 1944. His wife and five children live in Sheboygan. Two sisters, Mrs. Elwood Diethman and Mrs. Gordon Smith left Wednesday to attend the services. Mr. and Mrs. Seefeldt were not able to attend due to their health.


Seefeld, Elsie (17 July 1901 – 25 May 1970)

* Spencer - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer, for Mrs. Albert Seefeld, 68, of route 1, Spencer, who died shortly after admission Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. Death was due to a heart condition.

The Rev. David Ault, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home until noon Wednesday, and then at the church.

The former Elsie Hendrickson was born July 17, 1901, in the town of Unity, where she received her education. Her marriage to Albert Seefeld took place at St. John’s parsonage at North Spencer on Dec. 12, 1917. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1967, and had made their home in Spencer since their marriage.

She was a member of St. John’s Church and the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband, a son, Virgil, Spencer; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Seefeld, Spencer; and Mrs. Arthur Schmidt, Colby.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and two half-brothers.

Seefeld, Frank (10 Aug. 1887 – 30 Apr. 1979)

* Spencer – Frank Seefeld, 91, Route 1, Spencer, died this morning at Colonial House Nursing Home of Colby.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Spencer United Methodist Church, the Rev. Charles Strong officiating. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home.

Mr. Seefeld was born Aug. 10, 1887 to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seefeld. He married the former Maggie Meacham Aug. 12, 1909 at Spencer. The couple farmed on Route 1, Spencer. He was a member of United Methodist Church.

His wife died Dec. 20, 1966.

Surviving are one brother, Albert of Spencer; one son, Walter of Unity; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, one son and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the funeral will be Virgil, Wayne, Arnold and Neil Seefeld, Jack Kaiser and Eugene Martin.


Seefeld, Frank William (6 Feb. 1859 – 20 Apr. 1941)

* Unity – (Special) – Frank W. Seefeld, 82, died of pneumonia yesterday morning at his home in the Town of Unity, where his son, Fred, made his home with him.

The body is lying in state at the Co-operative Funeral Home, Marshfield, and funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Brighton, of which he was a deacon. The Rev. H. C. Hinz will officiate.

Frank William Seefeld was born in Pomerania, Germany, Feb. 6, 1859. When he was 14 years old he came with his parents to Wisconsin, and for the past 56 years had resided in the Town of Unity. Before coming to Unity he was employed at Iron Ridge.

Mr. Seefeld, who served as supervisor of the Town Board of Unity, is survived by five sons, Herman, Town of Sherman, and Frank, Fred, Louis, and Albert, Town of Unity; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Seefeld died 18 years ago.


Seefeld, Herman (1 Oct. 1885 – 5 Jan. 1964)

* Spencer – Herman Seefeld, 78, president of the Spencer State Bank since 1927 and a director of the same institution since 1918, died Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. W. R. Krueger will officiate, and burial will be made in St. John’s cemetery at North Spencer. Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home from Tuesday noon until time of services.

Herman Seefeld was born Oct. 1, 1885 in the town of Unity. He received his education in the Unity and Spencer schools, and began working as a cheesemaker at the age of 18 years.

His marriage to Ida Neumann took place April 29, 1909 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, route 1, Spencer. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm in the town of Sherman, where they also operated a cheese factory. In 1949 they moved to Spencer.

Mr. Seefeld was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, clerk at Groveside School for several years, director of the Farmer’s Spencer Cooperative from 1914 to 1952, and was president of this organization from 1921 to 1952.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Frank and Arnold, Spencer; two brothers, Frank and Albert, Spencer; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.


Seefeld, Ida (30 Dec. 1886 – 30 Nov. 1976)

* Spencer – Mrs. Ida Seefeld, 89, Spencer, died today at the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford, where she had been residing since 1974.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer, with the Rev. David J. Ault, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, after 2 p.m. Thursday.

The former Ida Neumann was born Dec. 30, 1886, in the Town of Unity and received her education at the former Willowbrook School, Route 1, Spencer.

She was married to Herman F. Seefeld on April 29, 1909, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They celebrated the golden anniversary of that event in 1959. Mr. Seefeld died Jan. 5, 1964.

After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Sherman, where they also operated a cheese factory. In 1949, they came to Spencer, and in 1973, Mrs. Seefeld moved to Unity.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Arnold, Route 1, Unity; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and three brothers.


Seefeld, Louis (17 Sept. 1894 – 13 Sept. 1962)

* Spencer – Louis Seefeld, 67, route 1, Spencer, died at his home Thursday at 7:30 p.m. after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Spencer Methodist Church by the Rev. Ralph Koelemay. Burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery.

Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home from Saturday until noon Sunday when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Seefeld was born Sept. 17, 1894, in the town of Unity. His marriage took place in Spencer to Winifred Pickett on March 20, 1914. He lived in the Spencer area all his life except for one year when he resided in Darlington. In addition to farming, he worked as a mason and a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Donna) Neustedt and Mrs. Jack (Marian) Pryer, Spencer, and Mrs. Leland (Verla) Hebert, Loyal; three sons, Dean, Rock Springs; Dale, Unity, and Wayne, Marshfield; three brothers, Herman, Framl and Albert, Spencer; a cousin, Mrs. William Sgeltman, Milwaukee, who was raised as his sister; 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
