Albert Seefeldt Dies At Home Wednesday
Well Known Farmer of This Community Had Been In Ill Health and Confined to Bed For Past Two Months.

* Albert Seefeldt, age 72 years, died Wednesday evening of last week at his farm home northeast of Spencer. He had been confined to his bed the last two months and had his right leg amputated last fall at St. Joseph hospital in Marshfield, the result of infection. The body was brought to the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer, where funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock and another service was held at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran church north of Spencer. The Rev. H. C. Hinz had charge of the services. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

The pall bearers were Otto Manthe, Olaf Manthe, Herman Klein, Raymond Klein, Ray Ditscheit and Walter Justman.

Albert Seefeldt was born in Iron Ridge January 11, 1873, and came to Spencer when a young man. He was married in Spencer February 2, 1910, to Miss Ida Bruss of Spencer. Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, Frank of Adell and Otto of Spencer, and three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Ditscheit and Mrs. Grant (Ida) Baker, both of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Louis (Martha) Schwartz of Unity.

* Frank A. Seefeldt, 59, died of an apparent heart attack at 3 p.m. Thursday at his home at 100 N. Palmetto Ave.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Theodore Krueger, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in Hillside cemetery.

Visitations may be made at the Hanson Chapel from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday until 1:30 p.m. and then at the church.

Mr. Seefeldt was born March 4, 1912, in the town of Sherman, Clark County, and received his education in Clark County schools. He was married Aug. 30, 1934, to Hilda Oelrich, in the town of Brighton.

The couple farmed on route 1, Loyal, until 1945 and then moved to Spencer. They resided there until 1965 when they came to Marshfield. He had since been employed at Weyerhaeuser Company here.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, was an elder of the church, and a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Elda) Rust, and Mrs. Norman (Faye) Maxwell, both of Marshfield; seven grandchildren; a brother Arnold Seefeldt, rural Unity; and his mother, Mrs. Herman (Ida) Seefeldt, Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his father.

* Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church for Fred Emil Seefeldt, 59, who passed away at 3:20 P.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient the past six weeks. Death was caused by a heart ailment.

The Rev. R. J. Scholz officiated at the services. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

The body reposed at the Swarthout Funeral Home until 11 A.M. Friday when it was taken to the church.

Pallbearers were Walter Justman, Louis Justman, Otto Manthe, Olaf Manthe, John Neuman, and Albert Mellenthin.

In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Milton Domer, Mrs. Arnold Seefeldt, Mrs. Walter Seefeldt, Ardith Hendrickson, Verla Hebert, and Dorothy Neusbaum.

Mr. Seefeldt was born May 4, 1892, in Spencer, and had resided in this area all of his life. His marriage to the former Alvina Hendrickson took place June 1, 1913 at Loyal. They operated a farm near Riplinger.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Norman, Spencer; Lawrence, Kenosha; Myron, Spencer; and Paul, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Arlene) Martin, Spencer; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Herman, Frank, Louie and Albert, all of Spencer; and a half-sister, Mrs. Laura Schilling, Wausau.

* Spencer – Fred Emil Seefeldt, 59, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient the past six weeks. Death was caused by a heart ailment.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. R. J. Scholz will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery.

The body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home, Spencer, from this evening until 11 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to the church.

Seefeldt, Hugh (30 June 1914 – 26 Aug. 1972)

* Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Lutheran Church at Ogema for Hugh Seefeldt, of Prentice, a former resident of the Spencer area, who died of an apparent heart attack at his home Saturday. He was 58 years of age.

Tuesday’s service will be conducted by Pastor Jacobson and burial will be made in Ogema.

Mr. Seefeldt was born in the town of Unity June 30, 1914, and was graduated from Spencer High School in 1934. He had lived in the Spencer area until 1958 when he moved to Prentice. While a resident of the Spencer area he had been employed at the O. W. Trinidal Company at Riplinger.

He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Mel (Donna) Lindau, Neillsville; Mrs. Jack (Janet) Kaiser, Milladore; Mrs. Gary (Janis) Ewald, Spencer; Mrs. Neil (Jan) Neeb, Hastings, Minn., and Mrs. Nadine Blanchard, Prentice; his father, Frank Seefeldt, Prentice; a brother, Walter Seefeldt, Unity, and 19 grandchildren.

A son and his mother preceded him in death.

Mr. Seefeldt was a member of the Ogema American Legion Post.
