MRS. NICK ABOSKETES
Mrs. Nick Abosketes died Tuesday, Nov. 16, of an apparent heart attack in Tucson, Ariz. Services and burial took place Thursday in Tucson. She is survived by two daughters, Marian, Phoenix and Mrs. Robert Lloyd, Las Vegas, Nevada. The Abosketes family lived for many years in Waupun when the late Mr. Abosketes operated the Bon Ton.

LEO J. BEYER
Funeral services for Leo J. Beyer, who died Thursday, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Pastor Karl Gurgel officiating. Earl Roloff was the organist and Gordon Pape the  soloist. Burial was in Estabrooks Cemetery. The  pallbearers were Al Hess, Clark Woodruff, August  Lieflander, David Haak, Elmer Anderson and Leo Soll.  Military services were conducted by Trier-Puddy Post 75 American Legion Firing Squad. Color bearers were Arthur Mossong and Joseph Karst; color guards were Henry Rucks and Elmer Root; firing detail included John Pitas, Tage Swanson, Edson Stubbs, Leo Marcoe, Albert Balthazor and T. E. Sullivan; bugler was Charles Nowak and commander was L E. McEnroe.

FRANK CARD, FAIR WATER, IS DEAD AT 77
Green Lake County Native; Ripon Rites Are Announced
Frank Card,  77, Fair Water, died unexpectedly at his home at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday following a heart attack.
Born Jan. 12, 1888, in the Town of Manchester, Green Lake County, he was the son of Henry W. and Mary Reamer Card. He had lived in Manchester and Fair Water and was never married. He was a farmer and salvage dealer.
Mr. Card is survived by one brother, Ben H. Card, Fair Water, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church in Ripon, Rev. Louis Zick officiating. Burial plans are pending.  Friends may call after 4 p.m.Friday at the Butzin Funeral Home, Ripon.

Col. Horace E. Connit
Death of an Old Soldier
Fond Du Lac, Wis.- May 10 - Col. Horace E. Connit died suddenly at his home in this city at 11:15 this morning of rheumatism of the heart, aged 64. The deceased entered the war as captain of a Horicon company of the Twenty-ninth Wisconsin, in 1862, at Fort Gibson, he was wounded, the effect of that injury remaining a cause of physical distress to the day of his death. By promotions he became lieutenant colonel in 1865. He had resided in Fond du Lac for the past ten years, and at the time of his death was a justice of the peace. He leaves a widow, three daughters and two sons. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon under the direction of the Grand Army of the Republic post.

MRS. HILDA DOUCETTE
Mrs. Hilda Bertha Doucette, 61, of 244 Seventh St., died at 10:30 p.m.   Saturday at St. Agnes Hospital.  She was born Oct. 24. 1908, in Glidden, Ashland County, a daughter of Christ and Mary Kempf Kiefer. She was married to Joseph Doucette at Ashland on Dec. 29. 1931.  They moved to Fond du Lac from Minneapolis in 1953. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.  Mrs. Doucette is survived by her widower; one sister, Mrs. Christ Rast of  Giidden and one brother, Eldor Kieter of Glidden.  Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bidlingmeier Funeral Home with Pastor Willard Hanser officiating. Thereafter the body will be taken to the Brims Funeral Home, Glidden and funeral services will be held at Trlntity Lutheran Church, Glidden, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. MRS. LOUIS FARIS
Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Faris, who died Wednesday, were held at 9:30 a.m. today at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Rev. Francis Scannel was the celebrant. The deacon was Rev. David O'Malley and the subdeacon was Rev. Donald Peters.
Seated in the sanctuary were Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edward Brill of Jefferson, Rev. Joseph Frederick of Milwaukee and Rev. Paul J. Willteman.
Pallbearers were Richard Gray, Marvin Dobratz, Enos Silah, Phillip Faris, Steve Valis and Tony Meade.
The Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, Third Order of St. Francis and the Daughters of Isabella attended the services in a body.

MRS. JEANETTE FRYT
Mrs. Jeanette Fryt, 44, of 4421 S. 20th St., Milwaukee, a former Fond du Lac resident, died Sunday at her home.  She was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A.  Kenney.  Surviving are two sons, Patrick and Michael, both at home; her parents of Fond du Lac; and three brothers, Patrick Kenney of Fond du Lac, Thomas Kenney of Poway, Calif., and the Rev. James F. Kenney of  Milwaukee.  Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the John J. Walloch Funeral Home,  4309 S. 20th St,, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Roman's Church, Milwaukee. ALFRED E. HADDY
Alfred Edward Haddy, 68, Nasbro, died unexpectedly this morning at his home.
He was born July 14, 1896, the son of Frank and Anna Becker Haddy. He was married May 25, 1945, at St Andrew's Church, Le Roy, to Irene Vozell. He was an employe of the Milwaukee Road for many years. He retired from his position at the Western Lime and Cement Co. in 1960.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Gerald and Charles, both at home; and a brother, Arthur, Mayville.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Kietzer Funeral Home, Lomira, and 9:30 a.m. from St Andrew's Church, Le Roy,  Rev. Anthony Gundrum officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Kelly, who died Saturday were held at 9 a.m. today at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Presentation, North Fond du Lac, Rev. J. V. Bier officiating.
Members of the Altar and Rosary Society attended in a body. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery. Mrs. Kelly was survived by 12 grandchilddren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY ANN LEWALLEN
POCAHONTAS, ARK -- DOROTHY ANN LEWALLEN, 77, of Pocahontas died Wednesday, Jan. 1, (2003) at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Fondulac, Wis., she retired as a teacher at St. Paul Schools in Pocahontas after 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, George Lewallen III of Augusta, Ga., and Tim Lewallen of Jonesboro, AR; one daughter, Georgia Beuscher of Jacksonville, AR; one brother, William B. Barnett of Fountain Hill, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Sheri Floyd of Jonesboro and David Polen of Jacksonville; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewallen II.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with David Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery at Pocahontas. McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. A rosary will be at 6 p.m.

MRS. LINDLEY DIES AT 89 AFTER ILLNESS
Fox Lake Funeral Rites Scheduled; Survivors Listed
Mrs. Frank Lindley, 89,  formerly of Fox Lake, died Friday at a Dodgeville hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday from the First Congregational Church in Fox Lake with Rev. A. E. Wichmann officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Fox Lake.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Kratz Funeral Home there until noon Sunday when the body will be moved to the church.
The former Catherine Grebe, was born Feb. 11, 1889, at Hartford, the daughter of Christian and Marie Jung Grebe. She moved with her family to Canada Island near Fox Lake at the age of 4 and resided in the area for the last 20 years, recently moving to Dodgeville. She married Frank Lindley on Dec. 31, 1901.
Survivors include her widower; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Robinson  of Dodgeville; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons of Madison; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond McCarthy, Mrs.  Ricka  Dette and Mrs. Sadie Cochrane, all of Fox Lake, Mrs. O. B. Poore of California, and one brother, Fred Grebe of Randolph. One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lindley was a member of First Congregational Church in Fox Lake, of the Ladies  Aid Society there and of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Mela F. Owen was 86; Formerly Express Agent
Mrs. Mela Florentine Owen, 86, of Juneau, lifelong resident of Dodge County, died Monday morning at the Lutheran Hospital in Beaver Dam.
She was born March 9, 1879, in Juneau,  the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Herman Zillisch. She was educated in St. John's Lutheran Parochial School and the Juneau Public School and  assisted  in her father's general store. She was agent for the American Express Co. for more than 10 years. She married Leon Ward Owen on Feb. 22, 1910.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alta L. Meek, Milwaukee, Mrs. Eleanor E. Neis, Beaver Dam, and Mrs. Marion F. Radloff, Clyman; one son, Leon Ward Owen Jr. of Cedarburg; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Martin H. Zillisch, Neillsville; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Robert who was killed in action Jan. 4, 1944, while in service; one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. R. F. Prellwitz Of Ripon Expries At 70 in Home
Mrs. Robert F. Prellwitz Sr., 70, of 114 Washington St., Ripon, died unexpectedly at her home at 6 p.m. Friday.
Born in Ripon Sept. 22, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna Gustrow Sauerbrei. She was educated in Berlin public schools and lived in Berlin and Ripon.
She was married March 26, 1913, to Robert F. Prellwitz. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Our Savior's United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild of that church.
Mrs. Prellwitz is survived by her widower; two sons, Edward Prellwitz, Sheboygan, and Robert Prellwitz Jr., Ripon; two daughters, Mrs. Alvin Abel and Mrs. Edwin Vande Brink, Ripon; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Sommerfeldt, Ripon, and Mrs. John Wallace, Berlin; 11 grand-children, and seven great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Savior's United Church of Christ, Revs. E. E. Schieler and Harley C. W. Tretow officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn  Cemetery, Ripon.

MRS. SCHMIDT, 67, EXPIRES; RITES ARE SET
Methodist Services For Native of Town Of Forest
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs. Anna M. Schmidt, 67, 37 Arvey Lane, who died Friday morning at her home following a brief Illness.
Rev. Francis S. Foulke will officiate at the rite at the Division Street Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. Monday at the Candlish Chapel until 11 a.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Mrs. Schmidt was born May 10, 1898, in the Town of Forest, the daughter of Henry and Agnes Seibel Mueller. On Sept. 22, 1922, she was married to John H. Schmidt.
She lived in the Town of Forest all of her life until moving to this city in 1954, where she was a member of the Division Street Methodist Church and of the Lois Circle.
Survivors include seven sons, John E. of Brownsville, Robert H., Chester H., Lyle C, all of this city, Elmer R. of Westchester, Pa., Leland G. of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Staff Sgt. Franklin L. Schmidt serving with the U.S. Army in Germany; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Edna Mueller of Taycheedah, Miss Katherine Mueller, city, and Mrs. Florence McMahon of Wausaukee; and three brothers, Herbert and Louis Mueller of Taycheedah and Irwin Mueller, Town of Forest.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 24, 1963.

MRS. IDA SCHOPPE
Mrs. Ida Schoppe, 78, of 303 S. Hubbard St., Horicon, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday following a lingering illness at Lutheran Hospital, Beaver Dam, where she had been a patient the last six days.
Mrs. Schoppe was born Aug. 14, 1887, in the Town of Hubbard, Dodge County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schildt. She was married May 15, 1917, to Charles Schoppe.
She is survived by the widower; two sisters, Mrs. Felix Schoppe, Honcon. R. I, and Mrs. Martha Dumman, Chicago; two brothers, Ernst Schildt and John Schildt, both of Horicon. R. 1; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and of he Ladies Aid.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Lutheran hurch with Rev. Carl F. Selle officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Celeste A. Secor Dies at 70; St. Peter Church Services
Mrs. Celeste A. Secor, 70, of Bloomington, Ill., died Wednesday night at the Minnuitte Hospital there.
She was born Oct. 26, 1894, and was married to George Secor, Nov. 7, 1904, in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Bloomington. A former member of St. Peter's Church, St. Peter, she had resided at Minawa Beach before moving to Bloomington in 1962.
Survivors include one step-son, Carroll, Chicago; three step-daughters, Mrs. Fred Stratton, Mrs. Leslie Andrews, and Mrs. Dorothy Brockhouse, Bloomington; and four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962, parents, a brother and two sisters.

Horace B. Smith, 65, of 455 Scott St., Green Lake, died Sunday at Ripon Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born at Chopieau. Ontario, Canada, May 18, 1904, he was the son of John and Anna Rapson Smith. He was a retired maintenance man. He married Esther Selchert May 21, 1966. Mr. Smith is survived by his widow; one brother, William Smith of Detroit; one sister, Mrs, Albert Pirtie, Union Lake, Mich.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elmer Lunow, Green Lake, and Mrs. Frank Lieske of Markesan; three stepsons, Russell and Robert Selchert, both of Juneau, and Edgar Schiller, Hustisford; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Green Lake, Pastor D. E. Hallemeyer officiating. EDWIN O. TESCH
Edwin O. Tesch, 63, Clyman, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Watertown Memorial Hospial following an illness of seven weeks.  Mr. Tesch was born Aug. 11, 1906, in the Town of Rubicon, Dodge County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tesch.  He married Dorothy Schwantes at St. John s Lutheran Church, Juneau, May 3, 1930.  Mr. Tesch is survived by his widow; his mother, Mrs. Herman Tesch, Hustisford; three sons, Arville Tesch, Horicon, Darwin Tesch, Beaver Dam, and Delmar Tesch, Madison; two daughters, Miss Wanda Tesch and Miss Dolores Tesch, Watertown; one sister, Mrs. Arnold Schwartz, Route I, Juneau; and two grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Mrs. August Rosin.  Mr. Tesch was a retired dairy farmer.  He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clyman, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Pastor Walter J. Mrs. Carlton Zinth, 49, of 727 Evans St., Oshkosh, died Tuesday at her home following an extended illness.
The former Verna Redlin was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Spencer and moved to Oshkosh 27 years ago. She was married to Carlton Zinth Oct. 6, 1938. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Evening Guild.
Survivors include her widower; a daughter, Barbara, and two sons, James and George, at home; her father, Charles Redlin, Oshkosh; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Lienhardt, Almond, Miss Letty Redlin, Evanston, Ill., Mrs. Francis Lamb, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Jack Beck, Oshkosh: and six brothers, Milton, Leslie, Harvey and Erwin of Oshkosh, Earl, Almond, and Ira, Reighmoor.
Services were held at 2 p.m., today at the Fiss and Bills Funeral Home. Oshkosh, Rev. John L. Adams officiating.  Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
