- Miss Olice Truan left Tuesday morning for Superior, where she will attend the normal school this year.
- Dr. J. C. Reynolds of Lake Geneva, was the guest of his brother, W. S. Reynolds this week.
- J. Peal left Tuesday for a ten days’ visit with relatives at Minneapolis.
- Harlow Whitman returned Wednesday from Superior, where he has been visiting for two weeks.
- Martin J. Malloy left Monday on a two weeks’ visit to the southern part of the state.
- Judge Griff Thomas and his nephew, George Thomas Hawkins, returned Tuesday from a 10 days’ outing near Powell, at Plum lake.
- Mrs. C. H. Williams and son, Eugene left Tuesday for a visit with relatives in Minneapolis.
- Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott of Duluth, have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry La Fave this week.

- Mrs. Harry Luber of Chicago is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Perl.
- Mrs. Frank Martin is visiting friends at Buhl, Minn.
- Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Daly, who have been guests of John Lalond, returned Wednesday to their home in Duluth.
- Harlow Whitman is enjoying an outing at Manitowish.
- Mr. and Mrs. Carl Haase and Mrs. Marquardt of Wausau are guests of R. Paul.
- The income tax board of review has been holding its sessions at the courthouse this week.
- Joseph Aspinwall is on a 10 days’ visit with his parents, Judge and Mrs. P. H. Aspinwall. On his return to the Great Lakes naval training school, Joseph expects to be assigned to the U.S.S. Connecticut and to cruise through the Panama canal.
- Misses Hattie Hubbard, Maude Sealy, Ida Corkill and Nannie Thompsen and Rev. George B. Thompson left Thursday to attend the northwest Wisconsin Epworth league assembly held at Lake Chetek this week.

- Mrs. George Porter and children of Antigo are guests at the Dressely home this week.
- Mrs. H. E. Loye of Eveleth, Minn., is a guest at the Fred Williams home this week.
- Mrs. James H. Davis left Tuesday evening for a visit with relatives and friends at Adrian, Mich.
- Miss Hattie Reynolds returned on Tuesday from Waupaca, where she had been visiting her parents for the past six weeks.
- Joseph Becker, who is employed as an instructor in the college of agriculture at Madison, was home for several days the fore part of the week.
- Miss Josie Dameja of St. Paul is visiting her sister, Mrs. George Seamens, this week.
- Miss Ida Bradley, who has been teaching in North Dakota during the last school year, returned home this week.
- J. B. Seamens left Sunday evening for Chicago to purchase new spring and summer goods for R. Paul’s store.
- Miss Anna Lennon returned on Satuday to Menomonie to resume her duties as instructor in the Dunn County Training school.
- Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson left Sunday evening for St. Louis, where they will join a carnival company and take the management of one of the company’s shows.
- Mrs. J. M. O’Brien and children left Saturday for a visit at St. Paul, Minneapolis and Menomonie, Wis.
- Mrs. Joseph Secor and children left Monday evening for Bisbee, Ariz., where they will make an extended visit.
- The Ladies’ Aid society of the Presbyterian church met in the parlors last Thursday afternoon and reorganized with a membership of 20. The following officers were elected: Mrs. W. C. Trezona, president; Mrs. A. R. McDonald, vice-president; Mrs. T. Kohl, secretary-treasurer. The ladies decided to hold an open meeting once a month, at which lunch will be served.

- Rev. and Mrs. R. F. Finster of Butternut are guests at the Kristall home.
- George Paull returned Monday morning from Madison, where on Saturday he witnessed the Wisconsin-Minnesota game.
- Neil Harrington, who is employed by the state forestry department at Boulder Junction, passed Thanksgiving here.
- Miss Gladys Sullivan left Wednesday for Superior, where she passed Thanksgiving with Miss Anna C. Swanson, who is attending the Superior normal.

- Mrs. Joseph Pollock and daughter, Lucile, returned on Friday from an extended visit with friends and relatives at DePere and Sheboygan.
- R. Paul, son George and daughter Irene, left Sunday morning on an automobile trip to Wausau.
- Dr. F. G. Van Stratum and wife and V. B. Van Stratum and wife left Sunday morning on an automobile trip to Ishpeming.
- Misses Mary and Elizabeth Ostl and Rose Seamens are passing the week at Vulcan, Mich.
- Miss Nellie Shean of Sparta, Minn., arrived here last Thursday for a visit at the H. La Fave home.
- Mrs. Sam Rautio and son, Charles, left Tuesday for Northfield, Minn., where they will visit friends and relatives for several weeks.
- Mr. and Mrs. John Wall and son, Thomas, and Mrs. Cummings of Crystal Falls, Mich., and Mrs. Friday of Escanaba, motored here Friday and passed two or three days at the Mrs. Mary Hugher and W. D. Tyler homes.
- Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sackett of Sheboygan are passing the week at the John Jewell home.
- Mrs. W. D. Tyler is receiving a visit from her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Burrows of Great Falls, Mont.
- Miss Alice Jackson returned Thursday afternoon from a visit of two weeks with friends and relatives at New London.

- Frank St. Arneault received a new auto last Monday.
- Arthur Auger has erected a garage on the lot back of his store.
- Rev. Mr. Sharron left on Saturday for Sanborn, where he conducted services on Sunday.
- Rev. Mr. Friederichkovitch returned Sunday morning from Weyerhaeuser, where he passed the last week.
- Mrs. A. Muehl passed Sunday at Duluth with her daughter.
- Messrs. Morgan and Hahn motored from Hurley last Sunday. They were awarded the contract for changing the primary school building into a residence. Work was begun on the building Wednesday.
- Mrs. George Martika returned Friday from a visit to her sister at Ashland.
- John Kilsdonk of Tigerton visited his mother last Sunday.
- Miss Corrine Vielleux passed the week at Ashland.
- Arthur Auger returned Wednesday from Milwaukee, where he attended the postmasters’ convention and the state fair.
- Mr. and Mrs. LaBlanc, after visiting a week with the former’s mother, returned home Thursday.
- Early Tuesday morning this country was visited by the worst rain and electrical storm of the season.
- A dance will be given at the high school auditorium on Sept. 24 for the benefit of the high school library.

SAXON, Wis. – Mrs. Fournier was a Hurley visitor Monday.
Mrs. Kilsdonk left Saturday for Tigerton to visit her son.
A. Auger visited at Ashland Sunday.
V. J. Simon returned Saturday from the Ashland hospital.
Miss Marie Weidig was an Ironwood visitor Monday.
Mrs. J. J. Sullivan visited at Ironwood, Friday.
Mr. Donor, assistant superintendent of C. N. & W. Ry. were in Saxon Wednesday.
Roscoe Bennett, a resident on a farm near Saxon for a number of years, died Tuesday following a short illness with pneumonia. He was 64 years old, and is survived by his widow and two daughters. Mr. Bennett acted as assessor for the town of Kimball for a number of years. He was a brother of the late D. C. Bennett, former treasurer of Iron county. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. J. Armitage of Hurley, at the Saxon High school auditorium, Thursday afternoon. Burial was at the Saxon cemetery.
Miss Boyington of Hurley visited in Saxon, Wednesday.
