The Suit Against the Soldiers' Manager Begun at Last
The complaint in the action brought by Isaac R. Moulton against Gen. Jacob Sharpe, Sergt. Hall and Hospital Steward McAlvane, of the National Home, for $5000 damages for an alleged illegal confinement in the Milwaukee county insane asylum, was filed to-day. The complaint sets forth that on Nov. 22 last, Hall, accompanied by two policemen, under orders from Gen Sharpe, went to Moulton's room at the home, and there assaulted and beat him and falsely and maliciously imprisoned him by force and without cause or reason, in a cell of the home guardhouse. Moulton alleges that he was conveyed to tbe cell on a hand-barrow, and while en route was cursed and swore at by Hall. Later on he was removed by Hall and McAlvane to the Wauwatosa asylum and placed therein without the formality of an examination, directing the authorities to place him in the "violent ward." He asserts that this was unnecessary, he being so weak that a child could control him. Through this he suffered great ------
