Mrs. Thomas Scott of Racine was deprived of husband and child in one day. Returning from the deathbed of her husband at a hospital, she found that her child had expired in the interim.


Emma Sieb

Mrs. Emma Sieb, widow of Rudolph Sieb, died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Schaad, in Oak Park, 111., after a brief illness. Mrs. Sieb was born in Racine in 1861, and lived here all her life except for the last few years when she made her home with her daughter. She was one of the oldest members of the First Congregational church, and a member of the Lily of the West Rebekah lodge. Mrs. Sieb is survived by her daughter, and by one sister, Mrs. Annie Olson of Racine. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p. m. in the Thronson funeral home. Friends may call late Wednesday afternoon and evening.


Ingeborg Skow

Mrs. Carl J. Skow. one of Racine's oldest residents, died last evening at her home. 907 Lake avenue, of pneumonia, aged 79 years. Deceased was born in Skien, Norway, in 1824 and came to this country in 1854, making her home in Chicago. The following year she and her husband came to Racine and have since made their home here. She was the oldest member of the Trinity M. E. church on LaSalle street. Besides an aged husband, two sons, Theodore and John, survive her. The funeral, will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from her late home.

Racine, Wis. - Robert Smith saw his friend killed by train. Carried him to undertaker shop. Smith then died of heart failure
 


Ida Olsen Snow

St. Paul, Minn. Age 90. Passed away July 3, 1966 in the Maple Manor Nursing Home, St. Paul, Minn. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Amanda Williamson; one brother, Erheardt Olson, both of Racine; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were to be held this (Thursday) afternoon in Mound Cemetery, Rev. Charles Rossiter officiating.

HE DIED FROM MORPHINE
Racine Contractor Succumbs to Dose of Drug - Whether Suicide or Accident Is Not Known

Racine, Wis., June 8 --- Simon Starke, a well-known contractor, died at St. Luke's hospital Saturday from the effects of taking morphine, but whether by accident or intent is now known. It was at first thought that he was stricken with apoplexy. Early Saturday morning Mrs. Starke noticed that her husband was not well. Physicians were summoned, but no assistance could be rendered. A wife and two children survive.
