Mrs. Andrew Flaig was called to Sheboygan Falls, Monday, by a telegram announcing the death of an older sister, Mrs. Pauline Bierbaum. Alfred Carlson

Alfred Carlson, a framer of the town of Birnamwood, Shawano county, died at the Wausau Memorial hospital following an illness of nine mouths with heart trouble.
Rolland Pockat

The Grant community was saddened Monday when the news circulated that Rolland Pockat, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pockat, had passed away following an operation for appendicitis at an Oshkosh hospital.
The young man was ill but a little over a week and it was with the deepest regret his friends learned of his death.
He was a basketball enthusiast and was a pitcher for the high school baseball team.
Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers, Bernard Pockat of Grant, and Rueben and Gerhard who are still at home. He also leaves a grandfather, William Pockat.
Funeral services will be held from St. Johns Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon with Rev. Geo. Durkop officiating and interment be made in Greenleaf cemetery.
The Pockat family have the deepest sympathy of their many friends.
Samuel Pockat

Funeral services for Samuel Pockat who passed away last Thursday morning, February 10 at a New London hospital were held Monday, Feb. 14, at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Pockat was 70 years of age.
Samuel Gustave Pockat was born in the town of Grant March 3, 1878, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pockat. He grew to man hood in that township where he resided his entire life. On December 18, 1903 he was married to Anna Schwantes at Marion and they took residence on the present farm. To this union five children were born, three of who, with the widow survive. The children are: Bernard of Montana, Rueben on the home farm and Gerhart at Oconto Falls. Two brothers, Julius of Marion and Charles of Clintonville. Six sisters: Celia, Mrs. Emil Mevis of Marion; Sophie, Mrs. Frank Schwede of Marion; Ida, Mrs. Gust Zahn Pella; Marie, Mrs. Rudy Ehlert, Clintonville; Lydia, Mrs. Fred Dallman of Racine; Minnie, Mrs. L. E. Kopitzke of Grant.
Deceased was a member of the Men’s club of St. John’s church. Rev. Ohlrogge was in charge of the services and burial was in Greenleaf. The pall bearers were: Gordon Nohr, Martin Radtke, Leonard Dieck, Oscar Mehlberg, Arnold Mielke and Harvey Mielke.
George Wagester

Mrs. Joe Schmirler received a dispatch from Briarton, Shawano county, Saturday, announcing the death of George Wagester, her brother. She left for that place to attend the funeral. She will remain about two weeks in that section of the state with relatives and old friends. Her son Joe accompanied her and after the funeral transacted business at Kewaskum and Manitowoc.
