SAVED A MANASHA BOY
Menasha, Wis., July 17 - A six year old boy of John Schubert, Jr., fell into the canal from the Mill street bridge yesterday afternoon and would have been drowned had it not been for the timely and heroic act of James Jones who saw the boy fall in and hurredly ran and jumped into a deep and swift current bringing the boy to the shore very nearly drowned. The usual efforts used for resucitation were used and the boy is all right. (The Daily Northwestern, Oshkosh, Wis., Tuesday, July 17, 1888, column 6 - Sub. by Diana Heser Morse)
