Hix/Hicks Surname and other folks with surnames starting with "G" and "H"
All items are listed in their original order - grouped by first letter - and with original spellings. This was
from copies of the original tax lists and since this is my interpretation of the handwriting, you are advised to
check everything for yourself. Notations in parantheses ( ) are on the original tax list. [?] are mine and indicate a best guess was made on the name. There are no titles on the columns,
but by adding up the tally of slaves on each page, I've deduced that the 4th column counts the slaves. It looks
like there is some sort of dollar amount noted in the 6th and 7th columns and since I have no idea what that's
for, I've left it off. Feel free to consult the original source.
