MINE AGENT STABBED
Bramwell, W. Va., July 28-Howard R. Sanson, an emissary seeking miners for Missouri and Indian territory coalfields, was fatally stabbed last night. his assailants are unknown. [The Nebraska State Journal, Lincoln Nebraska - submitted by Shauna Williams]

VIOLENCE IN STRIKE REGION
One Man Shot and Killed by Striking Miners at Bluefield, W. Va.
Bluefield, W. Va., Aug. 29-There is considerable excitement at Crane Creek and Simmons Creek over the recent shootings. John Ruble, a mine blacksmith, was shot by striking miners and killed. Reports were current during the day that a number of guards had been killed and wounded by the strikers, but investigation proves that Ruble was the only man killed. The non-union men are terrorized and a good many of them are leaving.
W.H. McQueal, president of the Turkey Gap Coal company, was fired at through a window, but was not hurt. [The Humeston New Era, Humeston Iowa - submitted by Shauna Williams]
