Golden Wedding
On Friday evening of this week, Mr. and Mrs. James H. Riddle will celebrate their golden wedding at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Chas. W. Smith, No. 159 South Broadway St., Wheeling.
A large number of invitations have been issued for the reception and guests are expected from Allegheny, Lancaster, Baltimore, Washington Pa, and Wellsburg WVa.
Mr. Riddle was born in Philadelphia about 70 years ago and was married to Mrs. Riddle, whose maiden name was Miss Catherine Baker, at Franklin, Baltimore County, MD., on Feb 12, 1854. They came to this city in 1857 and have resided here ever since. Mr. Riddle served several terms and Supt. of the City Water Works.
Their union has been blessed by 12 children, ten of whom are living: Mrs. Virginia Weisgerber, Jas. H. Riddle Jr., Chas. K. Riddle, William T. Riddle, George B. Riddle, Mrs. Kate Smith, Harry Riddle, Mrs. Rose Kindleberger, John B. Riddle, and Arthur A. Riddle. The deceased are: Christopher Riddle and Mrs. Cordelia Kelly.
