    I, Michael Cleek of the county of Pocahontas and state of Virginia being week in body . . . do make this my last will and testament  . . . first I give . . . my beloved wife Margaret my two negro woman Betty and sally . . . and one good quiet Horse . . . at the death of . . . margaret I give and bequeath  to my son William my black woman Betty . . . to my son John . . . my black girl sally . . . to my Daughter Elizabeth Hull seven Hundred dollars . . . affixed my seal this 12th day of December in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three . . .

Pocahontas County to Wit This is to Certify to the Court of said County that Isaac Moore who was by the Court appointed a commissioner of the Revenue at the preceeding term of said County for the Ensueing year (in and for the county of Pocahontas) personally appeared before me an acting justice for said County and took the oath by Law prescribed for commissioner of the revenue to take before entering on the duties of their said office given under my hand this 5th day of October 1829

    I Jacob Gillaspie . . . to my son William all my land containing 81 1/4 acres . . . one half of the sheep . . . all farming utensils and my household and kitchen furniture with the exception of two beds . . . he . . . take care . . . my wife . . . and pay to my three daughters Emily Elizabeth & Isabel, each twenty five dollars and to my three sons Uriah, Squire & Charles each twenty five dollars and to my son George & daughter Sarah each five dollars . . . this 5th day of April 1872 . .  . I John Smith of the county of Pocahontas state of Virginia . . . 1st . . . to my wife Sarah Smith the house I now Live in with all other buildings attached to the farm also all the cleared Land . . . except the big room in the house I leave for the use of my two girls, Hannah and Sarah so long as they live in the family . . . to my wife Sarah all my farming utensils and one teem of work horses together with the cattle sheep and hogs . . .
