Officiated at Two Marriages
Prof. E. W. Diarmid officiated at two marriages last week, the first being that of a Lotus Pennington and Carrie Keatley, the ceremony being performed in the dormitory at the Beckley Institute on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and the second, Tennyson Hatfield and Charlotte Hunter, on Friday, December 15, in the office of the clerk of the county court.

A Quiet Wedding
At the residence of the officiating minister, Rev. H. H. Pownall of the M. E. Church, South, last Saturday, Mr. Lawrence Spencer and Miss Byrda Burdiss were married in the presence of the members of the immediate families and a few intimate friends. Miss Burdiss is the daughter of Mr. James Burdiss.

Mr. John D. Puckett, store manager at the Ritter Lumber Company at Winding Gulf, and Miss Virginia Warren, formerly of the Beckley post-office force, were married at the house of the bride in Virginia last Wednesday.
